Layers Panel
It would be a good way to organize elements if we have the layer panel. Locking and unlocking elements is just a click away.
With our November release, we now have contextual layers. For enhancements to this feature, please file separate ideas in UserVoice.

What about layer groups? Are they different?

Hey @james - We have multiple initiatives going on right now. Thankfully, the team is large enough to explore more than one avenue at a time. Hang tight - we're exploring some of the higher ranked features as well. :)

I think the layers are not so useful finally, I personally do great without them, but it's true it would be nice to have a place where artboards are listed. A panel you can toggle or not for example.

maybe he wants the layers, so when you click on the artboard, it'll jump to that?

Zoom artboard to fit (the first and last bullets) is covered by: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/14590725-zoom-artboard-to-fit

In Design and Prototype Mode: Rather than scroll between artboards I would like to be able to skip from one artboard to the next and have them centered in my program window.
Possible Implementations could be an overview of artboard thumbs (see pages panel in InDesign) and / or navigation via keyboard shortcuts. -

Demian, you say this feature is started but as you can see from the comments and feature requests, micro animations and margins and columns for grids are desired more, not sure why this is ahead of those can you explain please? Thanks

Moving to feature request.

When working with many artboards it can become cumbersome to scroll to a particular artboard. I would like a couple of supportive functions here.
* fit artboard in window
* shortcuts for previous & next artboard
* zoom in on selected Artboard after zooming out -

I upvoted this, and I see that it's coming. That's great. I've been using XD full time and not having a layers panel has not gotten in my way.

Nice. Very important: i could have a bunch of symbols/elements on a layer and option + click on the layer to select everything on it and export all. Yay..

Please.. insert Layer or similar!! because it is difficult to organize overlapping objects !!

To find objects behind others, it's more useful an outline mode like in Illustrator.

No way to pan and zoom to a particular slide. This is extremely annoying. And where is the asset library? OMG.

Leave them out or innovate well.

I feel layers are a necessary beast - especially when you are exporting assets. I have to say sketch does this very well and has integration with Zeplin which makes creating red line docs at the push of a button. If we were unable to name our layers the developers would go insane with "green circle 4" Sketch's latout of layers is horrible, crowding up both sides of the interface making it distracting to design. I feel Adobe could knock this out of the park with XD if done correctly. But assuming we dont need layers or a layers panel is a bad oversight. UI designers must export assets, make this easy like sketch has :)

I was able to get surprisingly far and with surprisingly little effort without a layers panel, so the bar for what value it brings should be set VERY high.
If you're not going to innovate, I'm not sure it's worth adding just to satisfy your constituency's habits.

I think this will be a non-issue for you when the layers panel is introduced - presumably we will be able to easily click and drag layers up and down in a manner familiar to us from other Adobe apps?
