Menu to select specific layers under your cursors click-position
I would love to right-click on a spot and go to a layers-list and see all layers underneath my cursor so I can "dig deep" and even select locked layers by simply right-clicking on them, go to "layers" and then see a hierarchy of everything (even locked items) and select the one I want and change it/remove it. See screenshot for further explanation (As in Sketch and Figma).

I find myself using Sketch more than XD primarily for one main reason. If I see a bunch of layers or assets piled on top of each other on the z-axis, I can quickly get to the one I want in sketch by using the right mouse click. It will then list all assets directly below my cursor.
This comes in handy when I need to freeze and unfreeze layers as I work through a project. XD doesn't have this functionality as far as I know. Unfortunately though I love XD, I find sketch to be much faster to design in due to this sole feature. Its changed my work from being about 3/4 XD to 1/4 Sketch to 3/4 Sketch and 1/4 XD.
Please design a quick way to scroll through layers under a cursor!
Thanks.

It seems that XD has no ability to select an individual layer except with clicking deeper into a design. This is functional but not great.
Sketch lets you drill through a hierarchy of layers by right clicking on a given layer. From there the user can access a sublayer via a dropdown menu called, "Select Layer."
In the example I've enclosed, user can click on the main layer and through right clicking they can get to the string deeper in the design, in this case, 'Hello World."
This feature is a real timesaver in Sketch. I'm moving our department away from Sketch and trying to onboard them to XD. Adding this "Right Click --> Select Layer" feature would be an enormous timesaver.
Thanks for reading this far.

Hi Julius,
Do you know you can do "Cmd+Click" (Ctrl+Click on windows) to select through the layers in z-order at the given mouse location. While this is not exactly the solution you have asked, this should unblock you in performing the desired workflow.
Thanks
