Open local documents from Welcome Screen
Give us back the option to open files from "My Computer" on the XD "Home" screen. I used to have this option, but in the current version, it no longer appears. I'm unable to open and existing file from the Adobe XD Home screen unless it was one of the most recent files.
You can now open local documents using the “On your computer” button on the welcome screen.

Yeah this is stupid. Why make it HARDER for customer to save to their hard disk? You're pushing this cloud thing a little too much now... No-one wants to use that cloud stuff anyways...

This needs to come back. I would really like to hear the reasoning behind the decision to hide this basic feature.

I agree. For an application that pretends to be about UX design, this sort of feature (hidden tools) is completely antithetical to usability. It is hidden and non-intuitive. Don't let the Adobe company dream of everyone doing everything on the cloud make life harder for the many who are not.

Its really poor UX to hide that link. Hiding it behind a shortcut isnt any good either - unless you can remember it 100% of the time.
There is absolutely no way Adobe, on a product that WE PAY FOR, should get to play god and choose where we can and cannot save and open documents from.
really really poor

Please add the link in the "Your work" session. Hidden shortcuts aren't that helpful.

This is incredibly annoying. Some documents are in the cloud, others are saved locally and it's just an easy and common workflow to open the app and find the file in the splash / home screen as you would for other software. Having to go locate the file in your file system and open from there is tedious and annoying, particularly if you have complex file structure, lots of different client folders etc.
It's obvious why this in place as they want you to transition to everything saved in the cloud, but it's really not cool, or user friendly, at all. Saving everything in the cloud is simply not practical.

I totally agree! Not allowing us to open from local files directly from XD is really poor user experience design! I am not sure what the logic behind this was but it does not make sense to me. It seems like Adobe is trying to force us to use their cloud service. In my opinion this is not cool... and not the way to force loyal users of your product into using another one of your products.

Upon just opening XD, you can no longer open files from local computer drive, only from xd specific cloud drive (which is separate from my adobe creative cloud files on the computer..wait what? exactly...) Why are there two "cloud" locations? I have to go to my local folders to open and find the files...why was this feature removed?

Thanks for that info. I don't tend to use keyboard shortcuts heavily, but I found that I can also go to the File menu and choose "Open from your computer". Of course, neither of these 'tucked away' options is a memorable and readily available as the obvious option that used to be on the Home dialog -- still unclear why that went away since that area hasn't been repurposed for anything else and just sits blank -- but I'll make do.
