Open local documents from Welcome Screen
Give us back the option to open files from "My Computer" on the XD "Home" screen. I used to have this option, but in the current version, it no longer appears. I'm unable to open and existing file from the Adobe XD Home screen unless it was one of the most recent files.
You can now open local documents using the “On your computer” button on the welcome screen.

Adobe products used to be super easy to use. Now they're complicated and confusing. Adobe CS3 and CS5 were a lot better than the current version. Same thing with Adobe XD.

Please bring back this option. It's super useful. Just allow us to choose please.

Please bring back open local documents. It's annoying that it was removed as I primarily work with local documents.

Lol... that's hilarious solution - and that works.
An "open" button could be fantastic - if only for the reason to import (open) an illustrator .ai file to XD without going through the fuss of opening a new document. Thanks Elaine.

Simplify the opening sequence or add the ability to set preferences on how you want the welcome screen to look. Every time there is an update, XD has added yet another step to opening local files so now I have to click 3 times. The ability to open AI, PSD, and Sketch files is a nice feature to have, but it is not useful enough to be in the opening sequence. That feature is one that is fine being a few clicks away since it isn't used as much.

Sometimes I think there is a contest at Adobe to see who can come up with the most annoying features. Why do we need to vote for the ability to open our files? I use Google Drive to back-up my files to the cloud, so I don't need Adobe's one.
Just put the code back in that was deleted! Very easy.

This isn't a feature REQUEST, this is CORE FUNCTIONALITY! FIX IT NOW!!! Holy f'ng Jeez what were you thinking?!?

The save methodology being backward is really annoying and just creating extra work for people in a support role, as the end-users think something is not working as expected.
An initial Open, Save, or Save As should have the option to Open from or Save to cloud, but in any Enterprise situation where files are saved in the corporate file stores, 'cloud' should be an option, not a default that requires end-users learning something new to get the default action to work.
This is a U/I app, why break it's U/I with something non-standard? Adobe 'should' know better. -

Why make things completely backwards from all my other programs? Please make saving to the cloud and OPTION not the default. This change is not beneficial and goes against all other programs. Please fix.

I'm so tired of these kinds of ineffective decisions on Adobe's behalf. If this isn't fixed ASAP I'm ready to end my CC subscription and head over to the other common-sense tools everyone else already ditched Adobe for.

@elaine are you suggesting that this is the solution for this problem?

There are already Affinity and Figma etc that are pretty nice tools. At some point the pain of restrictions from Adobe will be stronger that the pain of restricitons that come from using some other software.

Voicing my displeasure at the extremely strange decision to omit the most basic function, the ability to open a local file. What are y'all thinking? It's like you're doing this on purpose to frustrate users. Your designers and product managers have to know it's wrong.
I think Brooks Jealous said it best here, "You people are seriously out of touch."

There is on open button to open existing xd document from home screen. I have to create a new blank document and then go to hamburger menu and click on open from computer button.

This is so silly, we know you want us to use the cloud, we get it. This is not going to push us to make it happen. Either we are already using the cloud or we aren't. I am sure there are plenty of other people whose work requires ALL assets be stored on a private server just like mine does.

Why would you deprecate an option to open local files? Even if there is a keyboard shortcut...
You people are seriously out of touch...

It feels counter productive not having the option to open local files from the Welcome Screen! You are not making me use the cloud by doing that, and if you already have a keyboard shortcut for that why not adding the option to the screen???

Just feels like a sneaky way to push your customers towards using your cloud storage service?

I agree with Dan - disrespectful and highly annoying.

I actually find this quite disrespectful. Already switching from the default Cmd+S to cloud from local, sent a clear signal what you "want" subscribers to do. But now removing the button to open a local file altogether... I've been working with Adobe since Photoshop 4. Love your products and actually own a small amount of stock. But really, coercive financially motivated actions like this really make you think about your relationship with a brand. Please respect users rights to work the way they want to.
