Just found this post and think I have a similar issue. I have a small set of artboards and connected components that we need to use as a template to create copies inside the same XD file. We don't seem to be able to get the component links to remain intact when either copying or duplicating the artboards and connected components. We have tried this in both Design and Prototyping mode without success. We are trying to understand if XD now supports this and the correct process if available.

As Steve wrote it is painfull when I copy artboards being in Design mode and have to remove all connections e.g. 100 connections, it is ok and logic when Im in Prototype mode. Also dont see reason for keep components states while copy in design mode why you asume we need states under all new artboards? If I need instances with states just can copy (undre prototype mode ) or dnd from side bar for euch particular element.
So for now I have to keep 2 artboards for e.g. navi one with connections and one without to make copy of it for euch flow Im doing . :(

When I copy the entire artboard, wires are copied in design mode even for non components. I'm on a PC.

Hi Steve,

When you copy paste in design mode, we recently made a change to copy wires only for Components. This ensures that your state to state interactions like (Eg: Hover) work even when you create more instances of that component in design mode.

When you copy paste objects (other than Components) they will not copy the wires / interactions in design mode. If you copy paste the whole artboard in design mode and it contains Components, then those wires will be copied.
