Shape builder
It would be great if XD had a shape builder like Illustrator to more easily build more complex shapes. This would allow me to stay within just one application instead of having to use multiple applications. The standard boolean operators just don't cut it.

I would like to see an option similar to Illustrator "Shape Builder Tool" in XD, it would be very practical when creating specific icons and shapes without having to leave the app, in addition, I would also like to see more effects options, similar to Figma , so effects could be applied more than once to the same shape.

While it may take several steps to create a shape using the Non-destructive Boolean Operations, it would be much easier to create a shape using the Shape Builder tool in a single step. I think that sometime in the future the Shape Builder tool would replace the boolean operations.

Curious, can you elaborate? Our non-destructive boolean operations should get you most of the way there, what specifically are you missing that you require?

It would be really useful to have the Shape Builder Tool in XD like we do in Illustrator. It really accelerates the design process since we can do everything in one application.

Similar issue - I want to easily change a square into a triangle. I would assume that clicking the pen tool and by selecting the square's anchor point I could delete it or move it. This doesn't seem to work. Infact, in help "edit object" doesn't seem to any results. If this is possible its not very intuitive to me.

Thanks for the reminder about being able to go into a group to resize and move things around. That does help. Here's a quick example of where the shape builder seems to be easier to use.

I realize that there may be a way to easily do this with the boolean operators and perhaps I'm just not aware. Thanks!

If you compare the shape builder tool in Illustrator to the basic boolean operators in XD (or even the basic boolean operators in Illustrator), you will see that it's much easier to create more complex shapes using the shape builder. With the shape builder I can overlap a lot of different shapes to create a particular shape and then combine the specific pieces that I want together in one pass. The basic boolean operators do not let me do this, which means that there are some shapes or logos that I can't really create (or easily create) in XD.

Can you please elaborate? What aren't you seeing as not viable with current boolean operators? e.g. You can double click down into a boolean group to update/resize/move component parts etc. Or what do you like about shape builder that you aren't able to accomplish with the non-destructive boolean operations?
