Paragraph spacing / Soft Returns
User should be able to use a soft return (shift+return) to break a line of text without adding paragraph spacing .

Adobe, this needs to be added. Most of 2020 is over, and we still don't have this basic feature, which is relevant in every single web or app project.

Just needed this today. Couldn't do it. Kinda unbelievable that they haven't added this to XD when this was flagged as an issue over two years ago.

Hello!!!!!? You call this a design app and basic typographic things are not working at all in XD. This is just one example!!!

Stan commented
How is this not a thing already?

YES--so basic for a design app. When did this start??

Please Adobe, we need soft line breaks – this is basic functionality and is available in other Adobe Programs.
Not to mention at least two XD competitors have it, Figma and InVision.

This is the most annoying thing. I feel like we had this functionality in the previous version and then it went away.

Guys, this is such a basic feature and a life saver when balancing out type. How long are we away from having this feature in XD?

Seriously, this is a basic design tool feature. Needs to be implemented.

Update to allow soft returns plz

When is this going to be looked after? Soft return is a basic thing to implement and will safe so much time! It is impossible to properly set a text block without this!

What's even more frustrating, is that it works in edit mode. After applying changes all adjustments magically vanish.

It blows my mind that this isn't included yet.

I run into this issue a lot. It's very frustrating.
For now I'm just adding spaces so the text doesn't fit the line of text anymore. It then gets pushed to the next line. That's OK for now but that's not a solid solution.Shouldn't this be relatively easy to develop (but probably hard to prioritize)?

Agreed. I need this too please.

Just came here to say the same thing. Please do this! As far as I can tell, every other Adobe program has this capability, yea?
