Identify unused colors and character styles in the assets panel
While designing and experimenting with graphics and typefaces the list of colours, symbols and character styles becomes really long. Since there's no way to sort these there are a lot of extra items in the assets panel. This creates confusion and the only way to find out is by individually checking if the asset has been used on an artboard. If there could be a way to select all unused assets and being able to delete them in one go would save a lot of time.
OLD:
The ability to view and delete all unused colours, symbols and character styles. Also, option of creating custom folders for symbols
Also, being able to create custom folders for symbols would be a great addition to the workflow.
I will be changing this to focus on unused colors and character styles. For unused symbols and folders, please upvote:

Please can we get this feature for all document assets.. files are sooo labourios to maintain compared to illustrator (select all on artboard toggle feature) and InDesign select all unused swatches.
I know you can do it Adobe!! :)

If you use 'unused' as a search query in the assets panel you will save a lot of people a lot of hassle as currently there isn't a way to detect if certain single assets exist on a large project (used the 'highlight on canvas' command) as the scale is too small for little, single items.

Hey
I know there's a highlight on canvas feature for individual color, but this is a different one, what i need is a way to highlight used colors in my color system.
I know the example is not perfect but it's it's just to make the idea clear. -

Yes, I completely agree. It is so convenient to select and delete all unused symbols in Adobe Animate. It is a big time-saver, too. It would be great to have this functionality in XD, as well. Thanks!

It also would be great if the option to "Highlight on Canvas" were enabled when you select multiple symbols on the panel.

Totally agree, it's a painstaking process to discover which symbols are not used in order to delete them, which you'll need to do to get your file size down for example
