Organize assets panel objects (symbols/components/colors/character styles) into folders
Would love to organize symbols into folder for easy accessibility. I spend too much time looking through symbols into one library.
Dear XD Community -
I’m happy to share that as part of XD 44, we have delivered the long awaited assets organization feature 🎉. So now you can flexibly groups your assets to help you organize, navigate and find your assets much faster.
This feature will allow you to:
1. Create unlimited groups and sub-groups for all your assets
2. Easily move assets between groups by drag-n-drop or using the move dialog
3. Custom Reorder your groups
4. Publish linked libraries with groups
5. Sort your document assets panel by name
To learn more about this feature check: https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/work-with-assets-and-libraries-xd.html
Please give it a try and let us know what you think.
Thanks,
Sherif

I've been waiting for this, and I was so happy when it came out. Though, I'm a bit surprised about how the components that are not grouped are indented. I'd sugest something more natural - see attachement.

Juhu! I really like that feature so far. Thanks for that. The only thing I'm struggling with is that initially all folders are open and I don't have the possibility to close them at once for an overview. I always have to close each one solely

Really happy with the new posibilities, but it would be nice if the accordions had a bigger fontsize or weight than the components themselves. If you have many of them open at the same time it is quite easy to overlook when a new folder starts.

Definitely an essential feature we require when creating a vast component library - scrolling through a long list as opposed to copy and pasting from a design system is a no brainer.
Folders would streamline the panel and make everything so much smoother.
Look forward to having it.

Hello everyone,
It should be possible to group and subgroup components in the Xd File.
Like: Main group: UI > Group: Buttons Subgroup: Icons
If you’ve made a lot of components in the Document you’ll quickly lost the overview of components.
It should be possible to make groups and subgroups of components. -

every other tool has this :'(

Now with the need to add images/components to library's vs copy and paste, this feature needs to be released ASAP.

The way components are created and managed in XD is deplorable. The way that Figma does it makes the creation and management of components far more efficient and usable among teams. I can't emphasize enough the need to stop developing a Windows version of this product and to focus on the Mac community. All the modern engineering teams of developers and designers have already gone to Mac. When Quit Windows??? When serve UX Designers?

Allow for applying multiple character styles in the same text box.
Make it so that the style is not tied to a colour. Colour styles should be separate. right now, I would have to create separate styles for: 16px line-height 20px Black; 16px line-height 20px White; 16px line-height 20px Red. It's insane.
It's also impossible to create proper design systems this way. My H1, H2, H3...
Allow for folders in organization. So I can separate Desktop folder and place all styles in there. Mobile folder and place all styles in there. And folder for components as well. It's impossible to scroll through when you have a huge library. You should be able to separate them into folders like icons, modules, header, footer.
Please implement universal shortcuts. Little things like superscript shortcut helps saves so much time. We deal with real clients with a lot of legal at times. And every extra click is a waste of time. You have brilliant shortcut for all your other programs... help us be productive!

This is honestly XD's biggest weakness. Trying to create a design system with XD is a nightmare. I love the flexibility of Adobe's components but it needs to have a better management system - something akin to Sketch's symbol library. If you guys can crack this then I will be a devout fan!

Any updates ? This feature was requested in 2018, 3 years ago !! Give us at least a colour system while waiting for a decent classification. I feel like this is essential for anyone using your product, and I'm pretty sure you're losing clients just because of this lack of a feature. Even I, a long-lasting fan of Adobe, am I considering competition because of this issue.
Please do something, or at least give us a road map.

The work with the components was done very well by the guys at Framer X. A convenient window opens there, with folders and previews.

I know that there is a component library (the icon that is above the layers) but that solution can be greatly improved by:
1. In Figma it allows you to have the components on another page and thanks to that it is possible to have them well organized and see one next to the other and check that they are consistent with each other.
2. Adobe XD forces having the components on the same screen out of your workflow, but having to move around the same screen becomes terribly tedious and is not a way to organize the components and the design system.
3. Another advantage that I get from Sketch is that they can be rearranged with the name using "/". For example, "Buttons / Large" and "Buttons / Small" will both appear inside a folder called "Buttons". Which makes it very easy to find the component you are looking for.
