Masking like Photoshop
I would really like to see the masking features of Photoshop in Xd. In terms of masking Xd is really lacking. People would really appreciate if they can use the shortcuts like Alt+click on layer to direct mask and other similar features of photoshop.
Its really frustrating to keep switching between Photoshop and Xd while making an UI

Can you please change the way masks work to be more like how they are handled in Sketch and InVision Studio.
The current method means placing a shape above a layer or group of layers then selecting 'Mask with Shape'. This means there is an invisible shape at the top of the layers that masks everything.
It should work more like Sketch and InVision studio where an object at the bottom of the stack is the mask. This would make it much more like the CSS overflow none property. It also means we would still be able to edit the style of the mask layer like a div and even add box-shadow without it being cut off by the mask.
Photoshop also works like this and is a really nice way of working with masks.
I've attached an example with how Sketch handles masks.

Dragging an image to a shape creates an image Fill. You can remove image Fill from a shape in the Property Inspector (PI) by either turning off Fill property, or setting it to something else (e.g. color, gradient).
Does that make sense?

There needs to be the same option to unmask an object shape when an image is dragged directly into a shape. The option is only available if you drag an image, make a shape, then mask, but often I copy and drag a shape, drag an image in and now want to keep the shape but remove the image.

I can't see any option create fade out or feathered edges using masks to create fade and soft edge effects? There's a simple and fast option called auto vector mask than simplifies the whole process in Adobe Fireworks CS6 but I don;t think its even possible at all inside XD ?

This has been implemented as right-click > Unmask Group (shift-cmd-G).

Currently I can only mask a picture but there's no way to unmask it. If I want to do this I need to make several steps, cumbersome.
BWT, it would be great to have the same key shortcut as in Illustrator (cmd + 7). -

When I want to mask it only takes the back shape to the front, but it's annoying that I can't mask the front shape into back shapre
