Name Character Styles
It would help a great deal if Character Styles can be named. Right now it is tough managing them and knowing which is which.

If there are a lot of text styles, then you do not know where what. Add the ability to edit the name.

Name, sort by name, sort by date added, assign category (button, label, icon, custom), list by category.

This would be absolutely ideal. I came here to request this exact thing.

Totally agree.
Naming and re-ordering is a much needed improvement.
And also showing the style currently used when you select an object by highlighting it in the assets panel, as it was suggested a couple of comments ago. -

It would indeed be awesome to name and reorder the assets.

Naming and reordering would be Ideal, but I also think it would be very helpful if by default when you have an object selected on an artboard, the asset panel would "show' the color or character style that is currently being used with some sort of outline/highlight.

Naming character styles is essential. I have a series of very similar styles in a doc and hate having to look at the font size fine print to pick the right one.

It would be also great to change the order of the assets. For example: I set 4 greytones as color assets. Later I want to add an other one with a value right in de middle of the ones bevore. The ability to name color assets could help.

1. Set an nickname to asset: I want to set H1 style to my text, so I save the H1 style on Assets but I want to set to this Asset the nickname "H1" to use again the same style and will be easy to find that on list.
2. Reorder Assets list: I want set H1 above H2.. H3.. H4 on list, to make my scroll on list will be smart to find what I want.

I think simple names would be even better. Being able to change from Swatch View to List View, for example. And the list view would look like:
Header One
Body Copy
Subhead One
Subhead Two
Etc. -

The app I'm designing has 418 screens, and I found myself using a lot of different character styles. I would like to have the ability to see more snapshot informaton and be able to rename such as Heading 1, Heading 2, Paragraph and etc.
So that I can have more clarity with what's happening in my design, without feeling confused what's the difference between Gotham Rounded 16pt Bold and Gotham Rounded 17pt Book.
I created 2 screenshots. One shows a modified version of what I feel the character style info should have. And the other is my current workflow.

I love the recent addition of the Colors, Character styles and Symbols in the Assets panel.
I think it would be an improvement to be able to label the assets. Especially the Character styles. When having a lot of them it would be easier to find the right style by naming them.
For example:
Sub-header Android
Roboto
Medium - 14ptSub-header iOS
SF UI Text
Regular - 13pt-----------------
This request is about naming text & color assets.
