Transparent images in mask with background color
Sketch does this quite easily, and I think it has to be part of Adobe XD:
Essentially, when you mask an image, you should be able to make the image transparent in the mask while whatever shape is masking the image can keep it's color. This makes it super quick/easy to have the effect of images overlaying on a darker color.

That's a BASIC feature and should be implemented as soon as possible. At the moment you have to lay a semitransparent rectangle over an image to darken this. But then changing the image is really annoying …

Okay, in photoshop its quite easy to get color overlay over one layer.
But in xd i have to create a new black faded rectangle over the image. So there are two layers "Faded Rectangle" & "Image". What if I have to update the image? XD automatically drops image. So in this case the image is dropped in Faded Rectangle (not dropped in the actual image) which is bad UX experience. Maybe, use opacity and fill option to create color overlays over images like I highlighted in screenshot below.
