Showing Layers AND Assets at the Same Time
I can't believe this suggestion doesn't already exist, but I work on a 32" or a 27" monitor all the time. I have plenty of screen real estate. Why not let me view both Assets and Layers panels at the same time?

I am adding my voice to this request! extremely clunky and wasting my time switching back and forth. I thought XD was supposed to be streamlined? Argh.

How is this STILL a thing ?? Back to Figma for another year and then I will come check again

Not being able to dock the layers and libraries panel drives me absolutely insane! I can't believe this request is 5 years old and not being addressed! EVERY single Adobe program I use (Photoshop, AE, Illustrator, etc) ALL allow custom user interfaces. It boggles my mind a software meant for designing UI's has such a limitation. I must click on the stupid toggle to get my assets hundreds of times and on a large monitor its a pain. Why oh why can't we get dockable and custom layouts?

Came from Axure rp to adobe xd. And trying to switch between layers and libraries is killing me. In Axure I had such a good option of docking these panels outside the design screen too. Minimum I expect from adobe xd is to allow access to both at same time.

I switch between libraries and layers at least 30 times an hour when working in XD. Being able to view them both at the same time is far and away the most critical improvement needed in XD.

Perhaps the most frustrating ¿decision? to make you have to click on "Library" "Layers" and "Plugins" on separate panels. No option to arrange these panels so you can see them all at once. I just don't understand.

I pay for Adobe CC... and I pay for Figma (!!!) which has an infinitely better UI.
Every 6 months I came here to see if Adobe developers have again worked on futile stuff and ignored basic, important things like this one.
How in the world could someone think that designers NEVER use library and layers at the SAME time?!?!
The contrary is true and XD UI is a real obstacle for productivity. -

This is confounding. Did no one developing this think I might want to select library assets WHILE drilling down in my layers/groups? What in the world? Why can't I customize my panels like PS and AI have allowed since at least CS2?
Dude. Just. What's going on?

Really surprised a UX and UI tool doesn't have the ability to do this. Hoping this will be a feature soon.

Adobe, this is relatively simple, please implement already. I guarantee 90% of the people posting here have more than one monitor OR enough real estate for both layers and asset windows to be open simultaneously.
No reason why this is being dragged out so long.

+1
Crazy that you can't do this.

I'd prefer to stack the panels … just like XD does on the right side … and every other design app has always done.
XD needs a UX designer.

When I created my Feature Request this month, I was like how no one requested this just for someone to merge it with this 4 year old request of that feature.
Seriously why would you open a UserVoice page just to ignore everything your customers ask for?
Also imagine having all this space but you still have to scroll in a tiny scroll box to find the state you need. 🥱

This whole thread has me dying laughing.
Nothing like a UX-specific product with bad UX and completely ignored user feedback.
ADD THIS

Adobe, please add this feature. People have been asking for it since 2017 (in this thread at least) as it is much needed UX improvement.

Tedious! How do people build anything complex with XD? I've recently switched from sketch and there are things about XD that are great but overall use and organization of symbols, colors, font styles is SO tedious to use! Am i missing something?

I think that Adobe XD is the only Adobe app that doesn't follow the same idea of re-organizing or arranging tools and panels which in my mind it's the most important option for user experience and efficiency.
I would love to see an updated user experience that allows opening multiple panels and rearrange them the way it suits the user instead of going back and forth with some shortcuts that require both hands on the keyboard to execute or moving your mouse at the bottom of the screen every two seconds.
Most of us have monitors that can easily fit multiple panels and windows on screen but most of the screen area goes to waste when working on XD.
* Also when scrolling your long list of components, you lose sight of the color assets. If you need to use them, you have to scroll up.

I can't believe this hasn't either been addressed, or had more votes! It's so annoying when you're building out a design system and you need to go between a library, the components and the layers to make tweaks between them all. So many unnecessary clicks....

Totally agree that the character style should be automatically highlighted in the asset panel when selected. Tedious to keep manually revealing...

I use figma and sketch and they have faster ways to switch between instances of components and type styles in the UI without having to go into an assets panel and leave your layers view. Is there a quicker way to switch between font styles if you have a block of text highlighted on your art board?
There's also no indication in the UI when you have a block of text highlighted to quickly see which character style has been applied. You have to right click to reveal the style in assets panel.
