Revert to old link after creating a new link
Hi! I just accidentially created a new link for a project when I intended to update the link. I can not find a way to revert to the old link. This is important in this scenario because we had notes to/from the client in the old link that we now are copy/pasting into the new link, but it would be ideal to simply revert and delete the accidental new link. Thanks for considering this!
With a recent version of XD, you can now have multiple share links and toggle between them, which means that this scenario should no longer happen. Hope that helps!

Heads up - this is still an issue. Had another designer working in an XD file today, she saved and then asked me (the XD creator) to publish the link. When I went to go publish to the existing link, it's no longer displaying "Update Link" and now it says "Create Link". I am not able to update the old link at all anymore. This is not good as we have tons of documentation pointing to the old link. Please help.

Same as the previous comment:
How does this feature allow you to revert to an old link? The only option is "Create Link", not "Update Link". I want to select the old link and update it, not create a new link that I now have to re-share with all the stakeholders. -

Thanks for the Feature update. It's definitely a start.
As nice as that drop-down list on links may be for certain circumstances, it doesn't address the issue when a formerly offline document is saved to the cloud.
Saving a document to cloud will wipe out all previous URL links. What I really need is a way to point an XD document to a link that already exists for it (see Manage Links).

Hi - I just updated to the latest version and I don't see an option to use the existing link. I don't see multiple share links like what was described above. As soon as I use the Save As command, the link goes away and all I see is the Create Link button. This means the previous link I sent out will point to the old design. This creates a lot of confusion for the team! Help please!

Thanks for completing this and for marking it as completed.

Ugh. Please help with this - I just lost 24 pages of review comments.

I agree with many of the comments here. The only addition I have is that it may be nice to be able to name the links so they can easily be referred back to later and updated. For example, "contact flow", "sharing flow", etc. When changes are made in the project related to contacts, I'll know to find and update the "contact flow" link rather than having to maintain a list cross-reference of published links and topics somewhere else.

This should be expanded to link management within the document. To keep the interface clean there should be a toggle to open the links created from that document and you can choose which one to update. This also ensures the user is intentional about changing links and it's not done accidentally.

yes, had just exactly the same problem and do have old files, but about 12 versions, so who knows which has the exact old link I need? not a useful workaround anyway....

+1 the link management for versions is really frustrating when copying old files to start a new stream or for UI kits. I can open a new file but that's just ripe for disaster if someone doesn't know that.

+1 - this could be handy

Our team shares the same XD file for our UI library, but only the person who created can update it. Now I have accidentally created a new link (as update link was not available). Big problem as now we have to update all developers and other designer teams.

this needs to be reconsidered - a proper way to manage published links.
Users should have the ability to not just create new links but update older ones.

I have just done this too. It's really painful.

The shared URL is saved in the file. If you have an old version of the file with the old url, then you could copy your changes across and then reshare from that file. Sorry for the inconvenience!
