Select alignment point for square grids (align center, align right)
The guides are aligned on the legt, maybe an option tot align at the right and center!

I would like to use the page grid off centre.
This would enable me to factor in exclusion zones like a large left hand vertical navigation.

Left-Right square grid margins (for 8px grid impossible to work)

Many design systems of large orgs are now based on the 8-point grid system, and other UI designers use it as a personal framework for designs with good horizontal and vertical rhythm. XD has a few limitations when trying to work in this system.
The grid -
Please allow the square grid to be centered on an artboard, so the artboard doesn't have to be in dimensions that are divisible by 8px. This way if it's an odd sized artboard or if it's resized the margins are even on both sides rather than having the right side chop off in the middle of an 8px square. Also makes it easier to center elements on the page.
Type -
There are issues with the way type boxes snap to the grid. The padding around the type seems to be arbitrary and if you snap the box to the grid, the baseline is thrown off the grid, making vertical rhythm and measuring in design specs more difficult.
Please make the box around the type a function of the line-height, so if your line-height is divisible by 4 it will lock to the 8px grid properly.
OR enable the ability to snap to baseline, independently of the type's bounding box, like you can do in other adobe apps.
So to recap:
Allow square grid to center on the artboard instead of starting from the upper left.
Make the type bounding box a function of the line-height / font size
AND/OR
Enable the ability to snap the font's baseline to the square grid.
This would create a much more efficient workflow in XD for many popular design systems.
Thanks!
