Snap to objects inside groups from outside (Smart Guides align to all objects regardless of group nesting)
When objects are in a group smart guides do not show up for those objects, only the group. It makes it hard to keep an artboard organized, no objects you want to align other objects to can be in groups.

I found it impossible to align deeply nested objects in different groups with each other. Attached example shows 2 groups, each composed of 3 objects; I wanted to align the deepest set children, red/blue, but found it impossible to select them both.

How is it possible to align groups of objects if my goal is to make sure the text aligns with the edge of the image inside that group? It seems if I manually do this, the text's box will be outside the group's general height and I will no longer be able to distribute multiple groups evenly.

need global smart guides too

This would be very helpful. I'm surprised it doesn't have more votes. I use components for almost everything but I can't align something outside of a component with something inside of a component.

For instance, a form made from a repeat grid. I want to add save/cancel buttons, but can't align them to the form fields.

Coming from Illustrator, I feel like we need this badly.

I agree. Maybe this can be solved by enabling „global“ snapping by pressing a modifier key while moving an object.

Agreed! It would be very helpful to be able to line up an element in a group with another element outside of that group.

I wish I had the ability to select an object within a group and an object in another group or no group at all and then align those objects. It's very tedious to always have to ungroup things or move them in my panel just to get them to the same "level" so I can align them and then move items back into my groups.
