On top of this request i would also suggest to highlight the previewed artboard.
So name in preview + highlight in editor (focus to the arboard, like this it will display the links)
A back button will be great also in the preview (but this is another story)

And you can easily get lost.
Previous versions of Adobe XD had page name and number.
Why is it gone?

When previewing a prototype it would be great to see the name of the artboard you are on. I often find myself checking to make sure all the links and transitions are working properly and it is easy to forget which part of the flow you are on when you find a mistake.

When I hit the play button, at the top where it says [Preview: "Name of file"] it would be great if it said [Preview: "Name of file" : "Artboard Name"]

This would be very helpful - especially in preview mode. I just went looking for an extension (similar to the Insert Page Numbers one) that would help with this.

Usually, i will preview the prototype with full screen, when the artboard from one the another, i always forget what artboard it is. so if preview title shows the artboards name, it will be better and remind me.

So interestingly I just discovered artboard names DO show up in the preview, but only in Safari (not Chrome). I haven't tested this on a PC, only on a Mac.

Why it would show in one browser but not another is beyond me...

Yes indeed, I have same problem. Adobe, please make it happen asap, as I cannot tell every person I'm collaborating with to look in the URL path for the screen name...It's not intuitive, easy to find and professional at all!!!
So please add this feature for easier collaboration and understanding!

Janice, the artboard name is helpful in the published prototype (which is what you seem to be referring to) but also the Preview mode in the XD application (which is what I think OP is referring to). Currently, when viewing the prototype, the last section of the URL path of the prototype (eg. "/artboard1" in "xd.adobe.com/view/abc/screen/def/artboard1") is the artboard name, which corresponds to the artboard name in your design. Would using that be a helpful workaround?

It would be helpful to include the name of the artboard that a view is looking at in the preview mode. Right now, my users mostly refer to "slide 2 of 17" and the only way for me to know which slide that is is to launch the prototype and click the nav arrows on the bottom. If the name of the artboard was indicated somewhere, users could share a common naming system created by and accessible to the designer.

When previewing and testing the structure, it would be nice to have the option to show the art board name. Now i have to manually name all art boards twice. Once for the art board, and one for viewing the empty art board with a text box.
