Zoom in the Preview Window
The Preview window is a great way of navigating through a design/flow, especially since the window is minimal and works great with my iOS mirroring software (xScope from Panic).
However, there's no way to affect the level of zoom in the preview window. Preferably, I'd like to set the zoom to 200%, 300%,or 50% (or reset it to 100%). This would make the mirror on my iOS device pixel perfect at 200% (Retina).

2022! With art board set to ANY SIZE in the 16:9 ratio - illustrator it is command+F, in indesign it is shift+w, in acrobat it is command+L - all send the preview to presentation at FULL SCREEN.
Why can I not get XD to preview and present fit to screen?

Sometimes while previewing a animation, we have to keep focus on details. In that case zooming option is necessary.

I'd like to be able to see a true to form depiction of my 1920x1080 design in preview mode. When I click on the play button, Adobe resizes and puts a different aspect ratio on my design, including adding two vertical black bars - one on each side of the design. (see screenshot)
The devs I work with like to develop in 1920 and I enjoy designing in 1920. However, we keep running into problems due to the fact that I have been thinking when I click preview, I'm looking at my design in its correct proportions. We just discovered this shortcoming in XD. I notice that the bars appear only if the design is larger than 1820px wide. Anything under that shows true to form. I'd love to see the preview mode work correctly when the design is at 1920. This would save me and my team a ton of headaches, speed up our design/dev process, and make all the follow up client resolution meetings and rework disappear. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

This would be very useful for my use case as well.
I designed a large scale mobile app for iPhone with iPhone size artboards. My client wants to meet on zoom and review. I open a preview of my mockup in Xd and there are huge black borders around the app making it too small and blurry on my client desktop monitor.
This would fix a second use case of presenting on a large format display, like a meeting room TV. The mockup previews do not scale up when connected over HDMI or casting.
Agreed with the original poster about adding 200%, 300%, reset to 100%. I would also add "Fit to preview window" so that whatever size you make the preview window, the app will scale. Scaling up to fill the screen may result in loss of pixel quality for tiny artboards using raster graphics, but I think the tradeoffs in viewability and usability are worth it.

Zoom feature is not available in preview mode.
But there is an alternative to preview in required display size.1. Select your artboard.
2. Add Vertical Scrolling to your artboard.
ex. if your artboard height is 5000, place vertical scrolling at 1200 (depending upon requirement).
3. Click on the preview. That's it!Hope this will help.

Yes a no-brainer

This is a much needed feature. Especially when presenting prototypes on a larger screen.

Would love to add variable zoom levels. Could help to test directly in original size.
