Magic wand / chroma key: select pixels in a flat image (& delete/remove background, recolor, or split into layers)
I am often working off screen shots of our existing products. I would like to use magic wand to change the color of particular elements of the UI. I would also like to be able to select a UI item from the screen shot and cut and paste in in order to move it.
Also: Quick remove white background from images (erase opaque pixels to create transparent background)

Firework's ability to create and manipulate objects as vector shapes, AND edit them as bitmaps, was arguably its best feature and saved me tons of time.
This is the blind spot for Sketch, Affinity Designer, Invision Studio, JustinMind, and Adobe XD as well.
The notion that non-photography work means no lasso or magic wand tool is quite short-sighted. Yes you can use vector shapes and masks to remove bitmap backgrounds and extract selections from bitmaps, but it would be so much easier with a magic wand and a lasso.
Sketch has an excellent magic wand but is missing the lasso which is needed half the time to complete the job.

What if you could instantly, at the press of a button, make an image not have its background and turn it into a png for use to design? Figma has a plugin like this that uses the remove.bg API to remove it. It would be very useful to prevent users from downloading too many images, some with backgrounds and some background-less.

A plaguin that removes the background of images, like www.remove.bg does, but without the need to leave the XD window or use Photoshop.
That would be very handy.
Thanks! -

Yes I loved this feature in Fireworks to quickly drop out a background on a bitmap. All the Bitmap tools from Fireworks would be greatly appreciated in XD. Just basic bitmap editing so you don't have to use multiple programs to design your website.

Somewhat related to https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12868962-edit-color-of-png-color-overlay, though the request here is more advanced -- don't change color of *all* the opaque pixels in an image, but provide Photoshop-like selection tools to edit or duplicate only some pieces of the image.

I want a tool that I just click on the white that surrounds, for example a 3D render, and makes it invisible. This way you retain shadows etc and don't have to go to photoshop to sort everything.
This would be in the spirit of very fast mockups to high end prototypes.
