Dedicated Hand Tool (without holding Spacebar)

Actual hand tool (in addition to spacebar). When viewing multiple artboards, it is important to be able to pan around the work area while being disengaged from the keyboard as a means of focusing on the work itself. Or just leaning back in a chair.

    Chiming in with another real-life example... When reviewing my team's designs made for mobile , I like to view it on the canvas as well as on the XD mobile app. This means my one hand is holding the phone, while the other is on the mouse/trackpad. During the review process it is common to zoom in the artboard and inspect certain design elements. At this point, we need to scroll around the artboard and the screen. While scrolling in the screen is easy, but to scroll on the artboard we need to put the phone down to hold the space bar. This gets frustrating after a while, especially when you are reviewing many screens.
    A dedicated hand tool will solve this UX issue.

    Without a dedicated hand tool I can't use this software without a mouse… Space + dragging is not possible by default with a touchpad (due to protection to avoid miss clicks when you type) so yes, I can disable this protection on my touchpad, or buy a mouse.
    Bref, this is REALLY REALLY ANNOYING!!! and for now, I don't want work any more with XD for this main reasons (and some other, but this one the main one). So please, add this stupid hand tool, on a H shortcut, as almost all other adobe tools…

    Very important for those of us with mobility issues that physically cannot hold a button down while using the mouse.

    Agree. I don't like to suddenly have to switch the way I think when going to Xd. Than hand tool (H) is already so implemented in other Adobe apps so if the ideal is "designing with the speed of thought", then why make me think twice?

    This is absolutely critical in my opinion and I can't understand why it isn't there on the menu when it's as important as being able to select things or zoom in/out. As a diehard Fireworks user (as many adopters of XD may well be) it's intuitive to be able to toggle this from the menu. The lack of scrollbars in the working area just compound the problem. People really don't work with one hand on the keyboard at all times and for me, this has really knocked my initial enthusiasm to switch to XD

    I would suggest tool icons for panning and zooming while designing. A user not familiar with Adobe products will probably not know how to change the view of the desktop with keyboard shortcuts.
