Find Artboard, Layer, or Text
I just noticed that sometimes its hard to find artboards, text, layers if you have a large prototype pages in your project. I think it would be nice to have a search function like the photoshop layers that has the ability to search through layers, styles, text, layer names and more. Maybe some "solo"(after effects feature) feature as well to show only the page that you are working on.
Closing this one as we’ve delivered search and filtering options for layers panel a while ago.
If you’re experiencing any issues with the current feature, please let us know in a comment or in a separate request.
Best,
Dan

Please make this happen! It is hard and time consuming to search for icons by dragging and zooming in the canvas whereas this 'search' feature will make everything easy when working on projects with many layers/artboards.

This would be a major help in documents where the layer objects exist (eg https://www.xdguru.com/adobe-xd-icons-material/) where there 1000 icons and the names are there, just not searchable. Yes, a workaround is to convert them all into Symbols but that's 1000x the effort I should need to exert. Ctrl/Cmd-F please!!

One work around would be converting the layers into symbols so that it is easy to search for symbol in the asset panel using the symbol name ( The symbol name is same as the layer name ). Then you can highlight the symbol on canvas

+1 For Ctrl+F. I just started using XD and I downloaded a bunch of libs to use in my own proto, but they are massive.. and constantly zooming in and out (especially without a bottom h-scroll is really tedious.

A way to find any elements marked for export would be amazing! I had an errant Rectangle and Rectangle 23 that kept getting exported. It would have saved a lot of time tracking them down since I had 50 or so boards to go through.

Suppose i am working on a very complex project, with hundreds of artboards,
i am naming different Artboard's with different names, and noting down certain keyword in each artboard for some purpose,
if i could search anything using Ctrl+F... then this would reduce the pain of zooming in and out several times while searching something
The artboard (name of artboard + any word inside ) that contains those words gets highlighted, then it would be very useful to jump in straight doing the work, when we open the adobe Xd document some other day. -

It would be really useful if you could search for a specific layer, group, artboard and symbols in the project, especially in large ones.

Searching for an Artboard name would be incredibly useful (I was just handed an xd file with 70 or so artboards -- it takes quite a while to find the right one).

Please include the search option for Artboards and Layers, that will help us to 1) search inside layers if we have many layers.
2) to find an artboardeg: check the attachment

Search / Find UI Elements by Name
Search / Find UI Elements by Name
I would really like to see the ability to search UI Elements and assets inside of UI Kits like web form elements, browser chrome, drop down lists, etc.. searchable and findable by typing its name into a text search box the way Balsamiq has implemented this. I believe UX Pin has this as well.
This is a killer feature that I look for when deciding which UX / UI software to use.
Currently you have to pan around and hunt for UI Elements in UI Kits visually and this is very time consuming.
While we're at it, we can extend this search / find feature to all XD symbols and assets, and even Font Awesome icons.
Thanks!!! I'm really hoping for this in XD!

Yes this is a very important feature to keep the control in huge ux designs. We often searching Artbord where IDs or content is hidden we looking for. A in-program search would be soooo helpful!!

⌘+f (Mac) or strg+f (Win) should open a search box that searches for a specific term over all text fields.
Optionally a search and replace functionality would be nice!

To be able to search and locate texts over all artboards (both header of artboard and internal text)

Some projects have a huge amount of layers and some deeply nested groups. So, it would awesome to be able to search layers by entering the name inside a search field in the layers panel.

Often when you have hundreds of artboards and layers meshed together, it can be a little frustrating being organized.
I want a feature like Photoshop where you can search layers by typing out the name of the layer.
So when a member of my team or the client refers to me to screen 10A for example. I would just type 10A in the search bar and instantly jump to that artboard. Rather than browsing all my layers.

I got 25 art boards (and its growing). Its a pain to locate one.
(It can be your advantage over Sketch )
