Line height: should function as it does on the web
On the web, i often use line height to determin the height of the types container. Therefore the text should sit vertically centrally to its line height. This is different to how line height works in print.
I also use line height for vertical rhythm. see more info on this here:
http://typecast.com/blog/4-simple-steps-to-vertical-rhythm
vertical rhythm is a huge factor when I design for web

Can anyone from the team respond?
Maybe 250 votes are not enough but I believe you guys value quality over quantity. With this improvement, you will end up the war between front-end devs and designers :) Please do your best to fix this. -

I am frustrated when I need to fix my components and whole layouts because of this!
I was wondering why on Earth my components differ between two MacBooks. I was trying to find the cause, and now I see what's going on. When I change the line-height it ruins the look of a button but when I keep it too high then the overall size of the button is wrong. Damn! Please Adobe fix this!
My case:Two buttons: Font size: 14 px, Padding Top/Bottom: 12 px
- Figma gives me button height 40px
- XD gives me 43px because the line height is set to 24
- When I change it to 16px it looks weird, as the text goes down, and it looks like on top there is more than 12 px of padding. -

How are we supposed to use the software without this feature???!!!

I would also add that it would be nice if we could use percentages (such as 150%) or unitless line heights (such as 1.5) as we do when coding line-height in CSS.

I couldn't believe this issue has not been resolved yet.
I'm not a Sketch guy, nor Figma guy, or XD guy - I use the tool that lets me do my job and with this line-height
I wouldn't be able to keep a consistent layout. If I expect devs to be pixel-perfect I should be pixel-perfect in the first place, especially if I'm putting together a pattern library/design system that will be used for multiple products.I checked with Adobe Care this morning and they weren't able to provide me with a solution, I got the "thank you- we will pass it to product team'. Pretty sure product team is aware since it's been reported since 2017...
Unbelievable.Hello Figma...

More than 3years that I'm waiting for this "BASIC" featuring.
So the question today is: are you made this featuring asap. If not I will stop using adobe xd and I will work with Figma. -

Super important. This is the way it works in code and without the feature, designs can be different than in code.
