Native OS X UI when possible
I've noticed that Adobe is trying to use more custom UI elements in it's products which I actually find make them harder - not easier - to use. Products like Sketch have found a real following by using the UI elements and paradigms provided by the operating system. I think XD should use more of the OS UI so that it would feel like other apps that I use and be able to have updated UI styles as the OS is updated over time.

I think the XD interface is really good, you can feel, in the majority of cases, some real consideration has been given to location, minimalism and simplicity. This aids a shallow learning curve which is a coup. As has been said a million times this is a beta and I'm hoping that in the not too distant future and with not to much more overloading the eye the interface will work even harder and more complexity will be added without more visual noise or product bloat. Well done. Keep going.
Though PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, symbols with prototype links retained when duplication or at the very least prototype linkage retained with duplication.

I think in terms of usability and reliability, it would be better to use native ui. If Apple updates the native functionality or usability of an interface element, XD won't be able to immediately have that update.
There are many instances of places where it throws me off - dropdown, pop-overs, check boxes, text inputs, etc.
One of the more jarring is that the file name isn't editable in the application's top bar as it would be in other macOS applications. Other applications also allow for the file to be moved from the application bar.
