Add Anchor Points evenly spaced between existing anchors (similar to Illustrator)
I posted this on the Adobe forums but realized this is the proper place to post.
I would like to see a tool similar to the "Add Anchor Points" tool in Illustrator, but potentially with a few more features.
Along with the normal "Add Anchor Points" feature, It would be really nice to be able to select 2 anchor points, use "Add Anchor Points" and choose how many anchor points to add between the two selected points, equally spaced out. This could also work with selecting more than 2 anchor points, or an entire shape.
Thanks.

This should be a no brainer, it's a necessary function. We all know we can add anchor point wit the pen tool option when accuracy doesn't matter, which is almost NEVER. Geezzz.. just give us the "add anchor points" feature via the object/path dropdown menu, available in Illustrator. I actually copy my paths to AI and bring it back to ID for this feature, how ridiculous is that? Helloooooo... Adobe, c'mon now.

Hi @joan_lafferty, Unfortunately, that's not how 'Add Anchor Points' in Illustrator works. The Add Anchor Points tool adds anchor spaced equally between two existing anchor points.
If there's a way to do this without an additional tool, I'm all for that. For example, the cursor could snap to the middle of a path when it is getting close to equal spacing between points.
I'm also suggesting the ability to add more than 1 anchor point equally spaced between two anchor points. For instance, if I have a 100 pixel long horizontal line, I could add 3 anchor points, each being 25px apart from one another.

The functionality to add anchor points is integrated into the pen tool rather than having a separate tool. With any shape selected, double click to enter path editing mode. Clicking on any part of a path will add an additional anchor point.
