Export size options (e.g. export only 2x version)
The ability to select my sizes for export would be nice. At times I work on apps (as strange as it may sound) that do not require all resolutions of artwork (1x, 2x, 3x) An option to select my would be great. Similar to how Sketch handles it.
Hi,
I’m happy to let you know that once with XD 45 release you can export JPGs and PNGs to any size between 0.1x and 10x (Choose from the dropdown or enter your custom values by hand).
Please let us know if any feedback. Happy exporting!

When I use this new feature to export 2x , the filename does not include the "@2x" label. This is a problem, it means they are not properly setup to be served to retina screens. It appears the only way to get "@2x" in the filename is to use the old method (Export size: Web) and then delete all of the non 2x files.

There is a desperate need to export higher than 2x. I often need to export in 4x, or even 6x, for portfolio and promotional reasons.

absolutely pathetic. can't believe you charge money for this software. such a basic feature

I have to deal with the added step of searching on my folder for @2x, it's racking up quite a few man hours where a software solution could make things way easier.

This request is almost 5 years old now and we still don't have adequate PNG export options for XD. Sometimes x3 is not enough. Please add more export options, like ones that already exist in Illustrator for many years now

This is should be fixed or done when they release the app in march 14, 2016. I just can't believe i need to delete all 1x & 2x assets when export. But until now, so many small and critical feature still under review. Adobe XD is good solution for UI design, but even you have alot of cool feature, you can't become number one if you still make us frustrated with this small detail but critical, especially in large scale of project development

WHY ADOBE; WHYY???
Iam loosing a lot TIME, what the f....
Please give us the ability to do a double and triple pixel amount export.
2x did never mean screen size, its about pixel amount. Why can't you do it properly?! -

The size options in export are not enough (x1, x2, 100%, 200%, etc).
A lot of times we need a higher resolution image in the app because we want to zoom in (for example) and the images coming out of XD are low res and too pixelated to use.
Please let us choose the actual resolution in pixels so we'll have the option to control the quality and size of the images. Exactly like Export for web in PS where we can set the width/height.
Thanks

This needs to be addressed. The issue I have is that when you export @2x from the program, it actually doesn't export @2x, it exports at the current size. Oddly enough, when you share dev specs, and it downloads and gives @2x at the double size option. So weird, please fix this glitch.

Export size as there in adobe illustrator. png and jpg images should export in at least 10x sizes. An artboard of iPhone 11 pro or other screens cannot export into better quality images which should provide for developers. while exporting the designers can choose the sizes and variants by their own as there in illustrator.

Many of these comments center around 1x, 2x, 3x. I would prefer if XD would also allow to define how I'd like to export my assets, I.e. 1.5x - 2.75x - 6.43x ect.
While the first three are common use cases, often times when you are designing for the web, you can load a 1.5x-1.75x image on higher resolution screens to save some bytes from the total payload.
It might not seem like much, but of you have 30 images loading on an Iphone, and you can save 10kb from each, it could have big effects on load times an meaning paint times.

Why are the export options so limited? Not only do you only seem to offer 1x, 2x, 3x, and 4x, but you also go out of your way to show, but disable the scaling dropdown menu. Why?
It would be great if you would allow users to export any scaling multiple they wish. 2x, 3x, 10x, 0.5x, etc.

The existing export is all multiple exports. I can't export 2x or 3x images separately, please add custom multiple export. Thank you.

Exporting out of Xd right now is positively torture. There's a laundry list of features already present in other design apps for this specific step of the workflow that Xd really needs to incorporate if they want to actually provide a quality product and not skate by on the merits of their brand name.

• Layers should be able to save export options associated with each layer — eg, if I have a desktop comp and a mobile comp, I should be able to save separate export options for each of those layers (such as @2x for desktop, 2000px wide for mobile).
• I should be able to describe a pixel dimension as an export target that isn't necessarily 1x, 2x or 3x of the layer size in the comp.
• I should not be restricted to only 1x, 2x, and 3x layer size on export.
• I should not have to export 1x and 2x versions of the layer if I only want the 3x size.
• I should be able to choose and associate multiple export options with each layer (eg, have a layer export two versions: @2x and 800px tall each time it's exported).
• File path syntax in layer names should result in nested folders on export (eg, a layer named Assets/Desktop/picture should result in an image file named "picture" inside a folder named "Desktop" which itself lives inside a folder named "Assets" — Photoshop already has this feature in its Generate Image Assets workflow)
tl;dr — look at how Sketch handles the export flow and copy/paste that as a start. There's room for improvement, sure, but the difference between where Xd is right now vs where Sketch is in that regard is painful and enough my team is eschewing Xd for that reason alone.
