Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    The world operates in gifs now. We’ve already made the move from inanimate emojis.

    Clients expect this in their designs to have the immersive experience instead of me changing my voice to add to the experience.

    Can't believe it can't play animated GIFs! I think somewhere out on the internet there is probably a free code library for playing GIF animations.... :-)

    True story: This week a billion dollar global company that I work for chose Figma over Adobe XD because this feature still is not supported years later and there is just no excuse for it. ;)

    Adobe, this is quite simple: add ANY type of animation import, we don´t mind, but it`s essential that you add something.
    SOON!
    Last monthly releases does not reflect user needs!
