Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    Please add support for importing and previewing gif animation in XD. Would be a logical alignment with web design trends.

    Websites are moving away from still imagery - animation and video provides much more visual stimulation - this feature has to be included to give our clients the best prototyping UX

    It would be nice if we could add multimedia assets such as videos, audio, and music to Adobe XD. Otherwise, the only way we can model multimedia website content is with static content or placeholders.

    There is more demand from DEV to provide SVG animations of any XD interactions (loader, app launch animation sequence, animated logo etc.) .So need two way animation support not only can able to import animated gif/SVG/png to avoid creating multiple screens for simple loading sequence example. Also plugin or way to export out of XD any animation sequence created.

    i'm using Adobe XD as a prop for movies for all cellphones or Ipad animation instead of greenscreen. The directors and the cast are so happy about it but I really need a video option in order to animate properly any Uber or sci-fi interface. I discovered adobe XD 4 months ago and this is my best tool now in business.
    Please add this crucial feature on adobe XD !

    Very important missing feature. I have to use InVision instead for many of my projects, just because using gifs is very essential in 2019 and I can't be bothered to explain to clients that here and there will be an animation. Its super annoying as otherwise, I love XD. Also, a button's transition is very much missing feature!! Please bring it with the very next update
