Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview
Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.
Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.
To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:
MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.
Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!
XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

This is an absolute must, Adobe. Come on guys, get it together. Video is a standard part of website design these days, it's a bit difficult to demonstrate what a video header will look like on my clients' website without some kind of functionality there. Why not at least allow a container box that allows a link to either Youtube or Vimeo... at the very least?

I would love to have this as a feature! So far, I've been in two projects that required video visualisation. On the other hand, the need for Gifs is mitigated by the auto-animate feature... Still a nice-to-have whenever possible.

Ehh... I'm struggling with some of the comments on this feature. "Playing a video" is not an essential part of prototyping! I can appreciate the need to include a little motion here and there (in the form of an animated gif) to aide in expressing some micro interactions, etc. but playing a video in a prototype is a bit over the top in my opinion.

How large is your team? 6 months passed and my gif is not animating. How to make protos without simple features? Are You promoting protopie or InVision?

Why? ADOBE WHY!? Why this much time?
Open-source softwares are so much better in this aspect! Corporates like Adobe are just after our money! They just give 2-3 feature changes every year and sell it as their new product! Open-source developers have a smaller team, they work very hard, give major updates and most importantly, listen to their users!

Interested in this feature too. Helps communicate with clients. Surprised it's even had to be asked this many times.

Yeah, adding video support/animated gifs is a pretty good idea. It beats telling a client "Ok, imagine a video is playing here. And here. Annnnnnd here too!" and sounding like a pleeb. It doesn't need to be the full video. Just something to give the presentation more snazz.

I Can't Use XD Without Video and Audio Content. It Would Be A Waste Of Time To Start A Project Without This Feature And Better Off Using Muse Instead.

Is there an ETA for the release of this feature?
