Animate individual elements separately (custom animation transitions / microinteractions)
Support for simple animation.
Example: Show/hide a slide or push menu
This would enhance a demo and engage prospects that are familar with common application patterns.
Reopening the feature request, based on feedback.

Animation like the Principle app, maybe using Animate CC. :)

It can works like framer. With code mode, so you can apply interaction in your prototypes, without any limitations.

Have played with Principle and Flinto.
I would love to see the Flinto way of making animations across screens and a behaviour designer model for micro-interactions and state changes. Adding micro-interactions to XD would make a massive difference.Users love rich animations and micro-interactions that are crafted well.
Could we do away with the timelines and keyframes model? -

This is the Point of difference feature that will blow the other design / prototyping tools away. Agree with previous commenters, look at principle... Or even Keynote!

set more interactive elements or options to object, maybe the software called Principle is a good reference.

XD is a very good product but have to be at least like Framer with animation like this:

Can't wait to use this feature! -

Having a more complex web animation prototyping tool, a bit like principle, would make Adobe Xd a no brainer when it comes to UI/UX. Really hoping that animation features are going to be implemented in future iterations

I think that something as simple as being able to link actions to showing/hiding layer groups could do the trick. Having to build an entirely new page to illustrate each dropdown opening/closing is just impossible to manage, but some clients expect this. (UXPin has the capability to show/hide layers on click)

I think XD will become THE ULTIMATE tool for designing and prototyping if this feature is added.
Please consider this.

This is THE thing XD can do that photoshop cannot. Please add this.

a definite must have

It'd be nice to have a more complex way to do micro-interactions such as hover effects, tooltips, dropdown menus etc... Principle app has a nice way of doing it with a x / y timeline.

I would like to see more elements interactions. For example by clicking search icon a search input slides out

MANY other wireframe apps let you import videos. It's essential to show animated prototypes to get buy-in from non-designers. PLEASE add this feature.

I would (and I'm not alone) love some new animations/easings :
Circular, Rotations, Shapes, Flash... -

I agree with the other posts here, without this feature XD is not worth using.

Honestly, it's not possible to really prototype until this feature is added. Apart form clicking between screens (in Prototype mode) and scrolling down a long screen, the "real prototype" feeling we're all chasing is not achievable while we're still truly working with static screens. The real world has no static digital screens and we cannot prototype with static thinking. UX designs are more often a single "transforming" screen rather than separate screens we can navigate between. I've been holding my breath since XD's launch and can't imagine that the Adobe team don't share this priority. Still hopeful.

Checking this feature request today and realized that this has been feature-in-the-backlog for 10 months.... should we be expecting this anymore?
