Edit Color of Imported PNG (color overlay)
Transparent PNGs do not allow color edits. Editing fills will extend to the rectangular bounds, not just the object

This should also apply to vector graphics. With the latest release of XD, I can now use linked vector graphics from CC Libraries. My team has a Material Icon library to easily place these icons, but since we can't overlay a color on them, we have to unlink the icons each time. Color overlay NEEDS to be a feature.

Ok Adobe this is taking way to long. We have waited for this feature for years now and it's getting pretty fk annoying. What actual fk designing software doesn't have the ability to add a color overlay to a PNG. If I would have a Mac I would have switched to Sketch because this is rediculous. How am I supposed to design anything like this. I am using Windows, I don't know if it's already possible on Mac but what the hell is this Adobe. Get your shit together. If you want to have a ''powerfull'' UI design tool, then make one and keep adding new features. This is just not working for anyone. Have you seen the date of the request (March 2016), it's January of 2018 now. Hurry up Adobe.

How has this been open for over a year and 6 months, and STILL not implemented.
You'd have thought a company whose main focus is on imagery would have implemented alpha channels on pngs...Refusing to make the switch until this is resolved

I want to use XD instead of photoshop but without basic layer styles how is this possible? We need color overlay and stroke etc! Come on Adobe!

As all Designers are Used to of Adobe Photoshop and Sketch so they also habitual with color overlays to change the color of copy pasted vector or PnGs but in Adobe XD there is no option to change and if we try to fill color PNGS comes with filled square box.
It will be very helpful if XD have color overlay.

No not a PNG but you can do this if you use SVG or drag over a vector from illustrator.

This a core Feature for me. If I buy Icons they are all in one color (black). For prototyping I nee to change the color to default-color, inactive-color etc.
A png becomes just a square if you use color overlay. -

Still, this missing feature is what make us use Sketch instead of Adobe XD
