I want the ability for each artboard to have a different type of grid overlay.

    Current scenario:

    1. phone artboard
    2. web artboard

    *turns on grid
** both boards use either column or square grid overlays.

    Wanted scenario:

    1. phone artboard
    2. web artboard

    *turns on grid
** phone artboard is set to square grid overlay.
*** web artboard is set to column grid overlay.

    Does that make more sense?

UPDATE: Totally forgot about this: there's a nifty windows app (I'm sure a similar app, I think it was called Robot.. something for Mac) called Autohotkeys which allows you to map unique combinations of hotkeys to unique combination of clicks; so you can technically create a combo that would let you use the general Ctrl+Click to a select an object after being creating it. (https://www.autohotkey.com/)

As a UX/UI student, and a new user of this tool, I find it a bit crazy that this option does not exist in any form, even limited agile set of keyboard mappings would be good to start. A as an example, in PS, once you create an object/layer, you can hold ctrl+drag that layer/object all over the screen. Currently, in XD, you have to manually select the selection then be able to use features like drag one, select all, etc.. similar to PS.

It looks like the spacebar+drag allows you to drag the entire canvas, so why can't there be a custom mapping or at least a 'general best practice' mapping of ctrl+drag, regardless of what tool is currently selected, to move objects around?

I think this XD has so much potential but as a tool that's been around long enough, something like this should have been baked in by now.

As a new user this is the first thing I noticed. I highly recommend making this a native feature.

+10000; I'm trying to make a Radio Dish Icon, specifically the waves portion... and I'm using a circle tool, to build one on top of the other, and because they are set to fill by default, I can't quickly create them relative to the center origin. Pls have a default setting for shape tools.
