  1. [Win 10] Incorrect display when re-ordering layers

    windows 10
    GTX 1080 (latest drivers 399.07).

    Reordering layers (not only groups) randomly (i'd say 1 every 10 reordering wihtout noticable pattern) leaves a persistent ghost of the dragged item (even outside the application, ie on the desktop) and reordering stops working after that.

    Ghost is often presented as a slashed red circle within a grey square, in the case of dragging a single layer (screenshot attached)

    This bug has been present since this feature was introduced in XD.
    Every session of my work in xd is plagued with this issue.

      Thanks for the additional information. There seem to be a number of issues you’re seeing.

      For layers re-order, there were some improvements incorporated into XD a few builds ago. But sounds like that may not be helping in your case.

      The biggest culprit for Win10 performance issues in XD is video card incompatibility. For this, verifying that you 1) your card is supported in the Win10 OS you’re working with & 2) you have the latest driver, will address a significant number of issues.

      To better understand what’s going, having the following helps to narrow things down:
      - XD version
      - OS version
      - video card model & driver version
      - Is the problem observed in all files? Or just some
      - How do other UWP apps behave?

    • XD keeps crashing after October 2018 Update

      MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)
      Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
      Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
      Graphics Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB
      Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB

      After using XD every half an hour to 1 hour or so, the program becomes unresponsive. And eventually having to force quit the software or restart my computer again and again.

      According to my activity monitor, XD takes up the most memory at 5GB.

        • XD not starting after laptop shut down due to low battery

          I was working on a XD file when my computer shut down due to running too low on battery. I had the file saved just before this happens. However, having the laptop (Surface Pro) plugged in now, XD would not start correctly. It would remain on the start screen where I should be able to select from the recent files but i cannot click on any tile and the window closes entirely shortly after.             Hiya Elisabeth (just noticed I spelled your name incorrectly previously – apologies!) Really appreciate the additional investigation on your part.

            For updating drivers, here’s some info:

            Depending on which graphic card you have, it would be good to check the manufacturer for newer drivers as the MS site may not have the latest. You can check in Device Manager, https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-test-a-cpu

            For the file, unfortunately the file cannot be recovered from the published prototype, this is a separate file type. However, if the file was saved to Creative Cloud files, there should be a copy available.

            I’m looking at the error log and see the file was saved in drive G:\ – were you collaborating with someone else on this design? I have seen where sometimes more than one user makes edits to the file on a shared location can result in this scenario.

            • [Win10] Drag and drop in layers hides XD

              Since quite a while, when I try to move layers in XD, as soon as I drag an element or group, the XD window disappears and I have to bring back XD with Alt+Tab in order to drop the element/group. This doesn't happen all the time, but I cannot see a pattern why it is happening.
              My system, drivers and XD are on the latest version, but this behaviour occured at least months ago already (not using XD enough to complain earlier). Is this a know bug or something that can be fixed from my side?

              • Switching from full screen mode to normal mode on external monitor makes window disappear

                13.0.12.14
                Mac Mojave

                1. Open multiple XD files
                2. Enter full screen mode on a couple (puts window into a different Space)
                3. Work on file
                4. Exit full screen mode on any of them
                5. The window animates to the right like it is moving back to the main Space, but the window disappears

                Reclicking on the file in Finder won't launch the file.
                Viewing all open windows won't show the file.
                Disconnecting from the external monitor doesn't even bring the file back.

                Very frustrating. Have to close completely out of XD, restart the program, relaunch the file.

                  • Can't open Apple Design Resources for iOS on Windows

                    I recently tried opening the Apple Design Resources made by Apple for iOS that can be found on this website https://developer.apple.com/design/resources/ and it starts downloading a .dmg file that isn't supported by Windows. I tried unzipping the file using 7Zip and WinRar but the only files I get are the ones that I attached below. I know this is not a problem of Adobe Xd itself but because of this problem there is no way for Windows users to use the official Apple Design Resources.                       • Content disappears if artboard is a certain length

                        Hello

                        I read this was fixed with the recent update but I'm still having the same issue. Basically when my artboard reaches a certain length the content either disappears entirely or gets cut off.

                        This is useful when designing a one page website where the content exceeds a certain length.

                          Yes, the issue was resolved in our latest release. But perhaps you’re seeing a different case that’s similar?

                          Some details to help dig into this:
                          - XD version
                          - OS version
                          - XD prototype link
                          - XD file if you can
                          - What length is the artboard you’re seeing problems with?
                          - Have you tried making some edits & resharing? Perhaps it needed a refresh for the changes to show up.

                          • Old revision is displayed when opening workfile - new work missing

                            Yesterday I opened a file to continue work. An old version was opened at first, but after I had desperately tried to open various files - my latest work suddenly appeared when I opened the same file I had tried initially.

                            I created a new file (save as) in order to make sure that I had a new revision available. Today the same thing has happened. My work from yesterday is gone and the additional file (rev b) I made yesterday is missing from folder. I am only left with the initial file I made.

                            • Issue with icon shortcut

                              Hi,

                              we have some issues with Adobe XD on Windows 10, we are on a multi-user environnement (domain AD). I have to create a shortcut for all users with command shell:appsfolder, then copy the icon to public desktop.
                              But sometimes icon disappears for all users, sometimes icon becomes white (blank file icon, but Adobe XD is still usable). These bug is very annoying we have to tweak at least 50 computers to make the icon visible again and four times last year.
                              Windows v1709 and Adobe XD version before 10.0.12.9

                              And the new thing sometimes I notice is icon disappears…

                                    Version of Adobe XD: 12.0.12.10 (Starter)
                                    Steps to reproduce the issues:
                                    1. Open Adobe XD on Windows 10 machine
                                    2. Leave the machine until it sleeps for certain amount of time, which I'm not sure how long
                                    3. Wake Windows up and Adobe XD magically disappears from the taskbar
                                    4. Attempt to re-open Adobe XD will result in fresh session which previous work is not resumed.
                                    Expected result: Able to resume Adobe XD work after a moderately long sleep of Windows 10 machine.
