About low image quality when sharing a prototype for previewing
If you do prototype sharing in the following operations, the quality of the image will be reduced.
- Paste the jpg (or png) created in Photoshop on the Xd art board.
- Share for preview.
There was no problem before, but the quality has been low since several months ago.
If the image is large, is it automatically compressed?
I'm previewing the design jpg created in Photoshop with Xd, and I'm in trouble.
Is there a solution?
My environment is as follows.
OS Version：macOS Mojave（10.14）

I too am having this same issue - I have a long website design that I'm sharing with a high paying client to review their prototype and the image quality looks like garbage. Tried reexporting and it isn't working. To be clear, it looks good in XD when previewing, but when I go to web share it compresses the crap out of it.
Im running into this issue as well. The quality is almost unacceptable when sharing with clients. Why is there a max height of 2000 px? Most designs we do at my large agency are taller than 2000 px, especially our mobile designs. This is a terrible flaw and should be fixed.
I have created an architecture diagram in xd which is confidential in nature. This contains all icons, arrows, boxes, text and including others. Whenever I try exporting the image, the output file is blur in nature which can't be shared with others since I find it tough to read texts, lines are blur, arrow are faded, rectangle box's one side lines are invisible.
I exported this image at 1x since other option is disabled.
Let me know the way out of this.

Why is there a max height of 2000px? How absurd is that? Does that mean we have to design a website under 2000px tall? What idiot from the development debt decided that was a good idea?

Still same problem here. Cropped a PNG to even 1056px in height (mobile preview with 360px width) and it was still blurry. All over the XD forum this problem (blurry and sometimes even squished images) soon celebrates its 1st birthday. How long can it take to fix such a thing?
and here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/11241940#11241940 - where HARSHIKA VERMA told me, to look (not only) into this thread. But as I said: cropping the height under 2000px doesn't help in my case.
Adobe's developers should know, how they do their image handling and trough which pipeline these have to go for web preview, so where does it depend? There has to be a function responsible for this which has to be found and fixed (or deleted as JPEGs and PNGs are compressed anyway).
Hello Arpitha and Jonathan Pimento,
Thanks for your comment.
As an example of image degradation, send a screenshot image and a preview link.
The first page is a long page screenshot (2800 * 19402).
On the second page, I pasted an image with a screen shot height of 2000 pixels on the first page.
If the image is less than 2000 pixels in height, it will not deteriorate, but if the height is long, it will deteriorate.
When previewing in a browser, isn't previewing a long page design appropriate?
When previewing a design to a client, Xd preview sharing is very convenient, so I hope it can be shared without image degradation.
When you publish a prototype we export images @2x . However we do have a max image size that we can publish @2x. You can hit that limit if you try to publish a prototype with a screenshot of a very long website. I would recommend cropping the image into smaller parts if the overall height is over 2000 pixels.

I get a horrendous picture quality in the web preview. In my case it is to do with the placed image's size. For example, if I place a very long webpage screen-capture in an artboard, while the image quality in the desktop preview is good, but when you publish for the web preview, the quality is so poor that is well beyond acceptable level (cannot read any text due to bad pixelation) This symptom is very easy to replicate.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Thanks for all the details can you please provide me the png file or jpeg file which you are using in the project. This helps us to regress the bug.
