Can’t save document (Error 49)
One of my cloud documents can’t save. The problem is that it’s the one that has all my "master" components and from this one I link all components to my working files. I suspect there are some corrupt components that started causing it, is there a way to narrow it down?
I can send the logs too.
I’m on the latest May release.

Same problem here. Getting it in different files, even after the latest update.
I've had to remove all my file from the cloud and store them locally. None of the solutions given have solved it, and even if they had, going through for each file is a pain.
Started happen again to me in past several days. Really frustrating.
Just adding my voice. Same problem. I guess it is copy and paste time!
Frustrating.... Same issue with my whole team. Cannot even make more progress in the project we are leading. GG Adobe XD...
Such a basic issue.
What is going on?

Having the same issue, this is insanely frustrating. The only solution I've found is to uninstall everything, creative cloud as well.
This works for a short while (1-2 days) sometimes less, then is starts up again.
I'm having this issue as well. I get Error 49 every time I try to save my file, which has my master list of components, colors, etc. so it's a major hassle.
I've tried saving a local copy, then re-saving as a cloud file, and I get the same issue. The top application bar perpetually says "saving" and it seems to save my changes when I open the file on my computer, but when one of my team members opens the file, no changes are reflected.
This is extremely frustrating, to the point where I can basically no longer use XD because days of work appear to get lost, continuously.
I'm on v 188.8.131.52, Creative Cloud Sync 184.108.40.2062
Seems to be solved after last XD update in my case. 🤞

Happened to me twice so far. I've created a UI Kit xd document that lives on my cloud and that I've used in across multiple XD files. One day just started to get that error and I didn't do anything more than just saving like usual when I make changes. Feels random...
Probably not going to use the cloud for global ui kit and linked components anymore until this is fix. Once I get this error, I can't make any changes unless I unlink component which defy the purpose.
Have a Master file that isn't very large. Maybe 10 MB in size, but there are about 60 components in it that are linked to other files. I've shared the document with another user and he added some designs from one of his personal files. This created red linked components.
If I leave those alone and do nothing, the file saves fine, but the second (THE SECOND) that I interact with those components, specifically attempting to delete them or make them local (so I can keep the component library clean and ordered) I get Error 49.
And there's no way back from Error 49 for me. I've tried deleting temp files to pull the cloud copy back in fresh (since the change was not committed) but that doesn't work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled CC and XD (which is a sh*t show since Adobe can't get their install agent to work properly on Windows 10).
The only thing that solved my issue was REFORMATING my computer. I went back to GROUND ZERO.
And then today I was cleaning up the component library and accidentally had clicked on one of the red components as well. When I made the batch local...you guessed it...Error 49.
Really getting tired of this.
I am currently having the same problem across different files. Is there a fix to this? When I copy and paste into a new file, it erases all the comments and I have to re-do it...this has happened 2-3 times in the past few days. It's very inefficient and time consuming to have to re-do work.
I am getting this error when trying to save one particular cloud file. It is a master components file for a quite big project so this a serious problem for me. Have tried all possible solutions but no luck.

Somehow I just had this same issue and ended up fixing it.
I was getting the same error trying to update my asset library document. I have it linked to my design file. When I went to change an element and save it, I got "The file could not be saved. Please try saving again (Error: 49)". The asset didn't change in my design document—however, if I went back to my cloud document and opened it either through the XD menu OR "Edit Master in Source Document" the changes were there.
Anita Subedi also suggested trying to rename the file. I renamed my cloud file and got another error, but the file kept the new name.
I decided to try something else; I saved the library document to my desktop as a backup and resaved it as a cloud document with the original file name. When I relinked it to my design file, everything started to update again.
Hope that helps.

Hi. Having the same issue. Saving a local file works fine but everytime I try to save my file to creative cloud i get error 49. I feel like this has been an issue since the small update that came around june/july. It seems to be an issue only for my Master document (the doc i link other documents to)
That release also fucked up linked assets (for example some assets that are linked show red even though they was just added by linking a document)

Hi. I have the same issue. Cloud documents ususaly works, but when shared with collaborators I often get Error 49. Can´t save the file, can't close it.
Tried renaming the file, log out, log in from CC , reinstal CC, update CC, delete OOBE folder, tried every solution found on the internet... Nothing helps. I gues it has something to do with size of the document or some corrupted linked components.
Anyway this makes cloud documents unusable for me...
Let me just add this feedback:
We are working on an iconography file which is used in different projects, this is a shared file with two collaborators. I was the only one working in the document. I've updated it with one icon. I checked the export button, got an error 49.
After multiple attempts of reopening the file after making a local backup i still see the icon i added. But still not marked for export, still not saving any changes and throwing the same error.
I closed the file, asked collaborator to open it. He was able to open it, no added icon there. He drew a rectangle and saved it. I opened it, no rectangle there, just my added icon.
So it seems the shared cloud file has been 'split up' into his version and mine, keeping the same name, showing us both in both files as collaborators.
I've had this problem with him in the past. That's were i lost days of work after i made a shitload of changes, which he unknowingly overwrited with an old version of the file which wasn't updated accordingly, seemed to be split up for a moment and merged again with my version, deleting my changes.
It's safe to say your filesharing system/versioning is still fucked. Please, do investigate.
I can't comprehend why you roll out the 'new and improved' collaboration feature and bugs like this still exist.
I want to advocate your product very badly, but with the way things are going.... you are making it very difficult.
Same issue, lost days of work in the past, document just reverted to a state of x time ago after i had to force quit this after xd trying to save the file for a day with a constant error 49 appearing. Same thing today with a brand new file, won't save anymore, it's been a couple of days already.
I feel regrets about making such an elaborate project in xd. Change my mind.

I'm literally having the same problem and it is so Fk**ing annoying. It also a has all my master components.
Don't think I feel confident in relying on Creative Cloud for my master file.
Yes :) even on other projects
Having the same problem, it's driving me crazy.
Would be really nice to have the option to link Assets locally, this would really avoid problems with Cloud and having bad internet connection or not connection at all so we can continue working, otherwise it really can cut your workflow and all the benefits of having a linked master library with components.
