XD is slower to respond in MacOS 10.14
Since MacOS Mojave, the app will start to lag after being open for a period of time (5-10mins). If you close and open XD again, the problem will go away temporarily, until another 5-10 mins.
The issue was addressed in Mojave’s latest update 10.14.2 Be sure to update your OS! Oh and we’ve got a new release today, XD 14, Check it out! https://www.adobe.com/sea/products/xd/features.html

Thanks for the info Mathias! If anyone else gets a chance to try out that workaround and has success do post further. I'll share any updates as they come available.

Hey there, if you don't want to use a beta release like macOS 10.14.2 beta 3 in production but also can't wait until Apple releases 10.14.2, here is a workaround that worked for me:
1) Install gfxCardStatus (free and open-source) from https://gfx.io/
It's a utility menu bar app that lets you manually select which GPU your Mac should use.
2) Launch gfxCardStatus and select “Integrated Only” in the menu bar app. In case you have apps like XD, Photoshop or Chrome running, you will need to close them first or try again after closing them.
3) You're now using the integrated GPU (instead of the high-powered Nvidia GPU) and the pinch zoom and panning in XD should run smoothly again.
I hope this helps.
Macbook 15 inch 2014, 16GB RAM
macOS Mojave (issue happened on the previous OS too)
If I start XD from a freshly booted system it works perfectly. However if I start XD after waking my macbook (i.e. don't shut it down) XD works but its really jerky, especially when scrolling around.
The only way to stop this is to restart the macbook which is really annoying. This used to happen with Sketch too and it turned out that the software had a problem to do with leaking memory.
App slows down even in5-10 artboard file...it’s happening when I updated my os to Mojave
Latest adobe XD on macos Hogh Sierra zoom in very slow. my machine in mbp touchbar 15 inch.
