[Windows] Some font variants (weights) do not apply on non-English systems
Using Segoe UI on Windows 10, some font weights have no effect when choosing them in the dropdown:
- Bold Italic
Defaults to the Regular instead.
All the other variants, Black, Light etc. and their Italic counterpart do work. (Something to do with style linking? It's odd that precisely I/B/BI do not work.)
This bug has been fixed in the April release, which is now available through the Creative Cloud. If you don’t see an update, click on the gear icon and select “Check for App Updates.”

I can't use Century Gothic Bold or Century Gothic Italic > it changes itself to Century Gothic Regular
The font cant be changed to bold or cursive. It remains normal.
This also Happens for me on Windows 10 (XD v 0.6.14.2)
It happens with Segoe UI, also with Arial. When I choose a different font variant, such as Bold, the type remains the same weight, with slightly wider letter spacing. It does not display in Bold.

Same problem here. Using 0.6.14.2.
Windows main language is set to German. I testet it with windows main language English and it worked fine.
I uploaded some Screenshots to google drive because i cant add pictures to the comment section:
Steps to repro:
- Have Windows in a non-English locale
- Select a font in XD that has localized style names for the current system locale in its 'name' table
- Try to switch to Italic, Bold or Bold Italic. Doesn't work.
I'm thinking maybe XD is doing some string comparison with "Bold", "Italic" and "BoldItalic" against the dropdown entry and it doesn't work because of localization.
I can repro with Georgia which also has localized names.
I'm using 0.6.14.2 Beta. I opened other documents and tried making a new one and I have this bug in all cases. Switching back and forth font-family does reproduce.
It's simple text objects, no nesting or repeat grid.
I am on a French locale in case that would have anything to do with this bug. I see localized font-variant names in the dropdown.
