Hi! It's making me do a double design work! since the already finished interaction design in XD can't be exported to PDF. Have to do all the work once more in Indesign just for the sake of PDF, bummer indeed!

This feature was requested over 4 years ago and still under review? When is it going to be developed?

So this interactive pdf exported from XD should ideally behave like a micro website where all clicks and scrolls are restored as they would be on a interactive mock up link i believe. This would be really really great and valuable asset!!

Same issue! As a program, I love working with the simple user flow that Adobe XD provides. But for the easy updates of the customer, is easier to send an interactive PDF form. Please do it!

At our organization we create a lot of interactive PDFs and interactive CRM projects. At the moment we are still using InDesign for such projects because we cannot add hyperlinks and export interactive features as a PDF from XD.

I hope this will become a reality soon!

this needs to be a thing! I'm working on a project right now and the first thought that comes to mind is "wait, can I just do this adobe XD and save as an interactive PDF" but no interactive PDF option exists! BUMMER! would make workflow so efficient and be so much more convenient. Would also give me alot more reason to play around with Adobe XD

Love this feature to be added! I do a lot of work with Slides (deck / keynote / powerpoint) just to make interactive pdfs, I really need the link to slides feature (as in page to links) working and easy to use. Some of my Decks are 300+ pages, with link to slides multiple per page. Example Lookbooks catalogue, Brand Manual.
Doing this in XD would be awesome & why I'd like it:
A, It keeps me using XD and not having to keep switching between many apps Keynote / Powerpoint or Designing within Figma / Sketch.
B, Convenience for handoff clients, ease of use and internal communication.

YOOOO I NEED THIS RN HAHAH this would save me from having to reexport and put this file into indesign just to make this happen. Idk why this isn't a thing yet.

This feature is needed to build interactive portfolio projects.

This would be a great feature to add to XD, and badly needed! I find XD is very convenient to design presentation and internal communications material, and not being able to create interactive pdfs is a real pain point. Thank you!

Why is this still not a thing?

Before responsive, InDesign created prototypes utilizing the "folio" panel. Not exactly the best, but at least there was an option for exporting a prototype to a client to give a good example of the UI/UX. I natrually expected XD to have this feature -but better! Can't believe it doesn't.

Why does this feature not already exist!?

We ALL want to be able to export an interactive Pdf from XD adobe.

Placing interactivity into XD is a delight, easy and clear as a juxtapose, placing interactivity into documents in InDesign is a royal pain in the... So either add the same ease of creating interactivity from XD into InDesign, or just add the ability to export to a Pdf with interactivity from XD.

Please could you at least tell us what stage you're at with this feature request? Is it ever going to happen? If not why not?

Not sure why transitions should be excluded! With the neglect that InDesign has faced in the digital documents area, it would be great to have some kind of handover from InDesign where you could turn a print document into a digital one. If not that, a fully fledged export interactive PDF function from XD would be ideal

I have to agree. With Adobe removing so much of the interactive components in inDesign 2020, a lot of people are going to have to convert to XD. If it was possible to have the interactive PDF, I could completely move over to XD.

For me, it would be particularly useful to be able to just send a linked interactive PDF to a client - where they can click through the app quickly (or quickly send it to someone else in their company).
I'd need 3 things: 1) I want to send a file others can save 2) without them having to log in somewhere or install a specific app. 3) while still being able to see the flow of the app and how it is supposed to work. Working links, not just static pages.
Communication is a lot more efficient (and it's more likely for me to get quick responses) when everyone I send the file to can just open it on their devices with tools they already have. But it is important that the buttons still work. When I press a button in the PDF, I need to be taken to the correct next page - like with internal links in interactive PDFs that InDesign can export. The functionality is often hard to understand on static pages without links and require phone calls or long emails which cost a lot of time.

Also in research projects, it can be incredibly complicated to have people download an app (sometimes this needs specific permissions from the ethics board) when often it would be enough to have an interactive PDF they could be sent and use with PDF readers they have already installed. An interactive PDF that has all the buttons working, but no animations, would be more than sufficient and save a lot of trouble.

EDIT: I forgot to mention why online preview doesn't fully fit my needs. In a nutshell, it's too unstable. When I gather feedback, I want to make sure that everyone talks about the same version of the design. And when I reference the conversation later, having an archived copy of the design is essential. Organizing, archiving and referencing different versions basically requires a somewhat functional, offline copy.

Additionally, when ethics boards and sensitive information are involved, you really want a file and not a web link.
