Yea, I’m really surprised by now this isn’t a feature by now. I sent an XD comp to a client that was 1280px in width for each art board but when he got it he said it was too small for him to see. A PDF? No problem. Now if it could just keep those interactive elements. Doesn’t InDesign do this already?

We can export all artboards as PDF, which is a great option, but we need working links inside those PDFs, too! We can live without fancy transitions and animations in those PDFs. Why we can create PDF links within Illustrator, but we lose them when exporting from XD?
Other option would be a clickable HTML, SVG or Image files loaded into a browser. We have those options with Balsamiq, Invision, Marvel, etc, but XD is simply better to use and lacks this feature.

We are currently using a different wireframing tool to deliver prototypes to our customers due to this (unfortunately, it's a very old one too). If Adobe considers exporting clickable PDFs (excluding transisiton effects and so on) as an important feature to add - I could finally put this old stupid tool to where it belongs (and I could encourage my team (company with 100+ people) to change to Adobe XD too).

Need this please! Delivering clickable mockups to clients that they can pass on without cloud and preview offline is huge.

@Arun Kaza thank you for informing me that exporting pdf in 1 file exists! I just updated XD and the option is there.

I hope the adobe XD team will consider point 2, 3, and making XD compatible to illustrator because I think it will really address the need of adobe XD users who can't share their prototypes through cloud to developers due to confidentiality.

Today in XD, you can actually export the artboards as a single PDF file via File-->Export option and set the export format as PDF. What this does is that it will put each artboard an image and export into PDF format. Encourage you to give this a try and let us know if this helps you?

Note that there is no interactivity information present currently, which I think is your point no 2 & 3.  

I need a way to share my prototypes to clients and it cannot be done through clouds. Here are some improvements that would really help with Adobe XD UX.

1. Like illustrator, Adobe XD should be able to export all their artboards into 1 pdf.

2. It would be a bigger plus if all the prototype interaction links are also integrated in that export. Adobe Acrobat has the capability of allowing user to click through a pdf doc and jump from page to page. By adding all the interaction links, I wont have to worry about messing up or missing the links.

3. What would be an even bigger plus is if when exporting as pdf, that XD will auto generate art boards that feature the overlays so that if the previous 2 suggestions happen, the user wouldn't have to worry about missing important interactions..

If you could even just do the first one, it would already be a big improvement. Copying XD items into illustrator doesn't always work and things shift. (Can we also make moving from XD to illustrator more compatible? ) These are all adobe software and it would be awesome to see them being able to interact with each other.

I'm coming from Balsamiq Mockups, just tried XD all day today and feel it is great, YET I cannot believe I cannot export interactive PDFs. My pharma clients need to keep a hard copy of the prototypes for going through approvals... a huge secuencia of pages won't do for them, that is too bad.

There is currently no way to export prototypes offline: if the prototype is exported in PDF the links do not work.
Please export links as well.

Would be nice to export or save file as a dynamic wireframe as one PDF

I'm also looking forward to have this feature! I have to create a lot interactive PDFs for my work and it's always annoying using Id and Acrobat. This feature would be so awesome in Xd!

I ran across this while looking for where this feature might be hidden. Not only would I like this feature, but it would help set XD apart from Sketch. I am pretty surprised this isn't already a thing ;)

Frustrating. I cannot believe this still hasn't happened yet. Other design programs (inDesign) allow you to export clickable PDFs....why not XD? There are times when just the document is required or needed.

THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! If you are creating an app or even a website you should be able to add a pdf link

He is talking about "embedding" prototypes (in mockups) into external documents (like PDF). This is of course not possible in PDF format.

I know it’s not ideal, but Adobe Acrobat comes with the ability to link to different page views within a document, outside documents, and websites. Currently, I make my PDFs in INDD or XD and export as a PDF then add the links that way. It’s the Edit PDF option under the Tools section. It’s not ideal having to use two apps, but if you’re stuck with Adobe products and don’t have access to another prototyping/wireframing software, it’ll do the trick.

XD is turning into a really nice interaction design tool. Exporting as interactive PDFs would bring the tool into daily use and would mean that I could recommend XD to my company. Our products need this!
