I think you should consider this very seriously...

heeeeeeello? voice prototyping, that like 90% of people do not need, but not a vertical alignment? so saaaad....

Adding vertical alignment is very useful in the case of say creating a Button or Banner asset that you want the text to be vertically centered inside. This works at present if the text in subsequent instances of that asset are the same number of lines. What happens when you reach 2 lines or more? Manually aligned text is no longer in the middle of the asset, it's uneven. A naive response would be that you can just manually align the text, but you can't do this because it's in an Asset. A second naive response is that you just make your all your design content the same length. Ungrouping the Asset and manually aligning "solves" the issue, but means you now have a maintenance nightmare on your hands.

The vertical alignment of text is not important.

This is a really important feature that is needed for pixel perfect design.

Not implementing these kinds of functions is unacceptable for professionals and is a reason to choose for apps like sketch.

Maybe you don't understand that this breaks Sketch designs.

It's summer 2018 and still no option to align text vertically. It's a joke when they calling it a new design tool. No sorry Adobe, not switching until a simple basic option is included.

We're approaching 1½ year now ... this is a pretty simple text styling feature that exists in almost every product out there.

I'm trying to design a website where there is a bit of text next to an icon. I'm using symbols and this is literally impossible to have the text properly aligned so it's always center relative to the icon. Please implement this!

When will this be implemented?

This will become a must have when symbol resizing is introduced and one symbol has a text box, and you want the text to stick to a vertical end as it is resized.

This would be really helpful for creating pixel perfect assets to hand off to developers.
