It is 2020 and this feature has been in the back-log since 2017. Every tool out there, including Affinity Designer and Sketch, do this, easily. I cannot fathom why a tool for UX design would not have such basic functionality.

Vertical alignment feature should mimic the code terms.

Quick Fix: Add a line above and increase/decrease the font size of that space. You can consider it manual padding.
