It is amazing that this isn't a feature. I am taking on a new project and this is a deal-breaker for me. Hoping to see it soon in Xd!

Can't believe we are still asking and waiting for such basic functionality. Almost 7 months since the feature was supposedly started and still nothing! You need to add multistate components/behaviors as well for me to consider moving to XD. Sketch and Flinto combo still crush XD for micro interactions and hi-fi, robust prototyping.

I am needing to move to InDesign specifically for this feature. Please add this feature in soon. The feedback loop is entirely broken without an indicator of interactive features such as a mouse over highlight.

Hope this hover effect will be added on upcoming updates

Links and button states are a fundamental and basic rule in user experience and prototyping. How this simple feature hasn't been incorporated is unbelievable and is sincerely letting XD down.

When it is ready it should blow our minds. It is very important for handoff to communicate hover. I think they wait till november Adobe Max and figuring out how it behaves with components, sharing and all that stuff.
It would have saved me a lot of time in the past.

How...on earth... do you make a prototype application for the web without a hover state setting?

The fact this is missing for me is eliminating the entire usefulness of Adobe XD. If it can't deliver in even the most basic interaction designs, it's an incomplete product. I'm not going to start a design in something I can't realistically finish with basic interactions before sending to a dev team.

Figma's had this for a while. I don't like to see XD lagging behind :)

Hover effect is long overdue. It'd be an exceptional 2020 New Year gift.

The hover state functionality would be a life-changing feature for Adobe XD. If this feature was added, we could design way more efficiently. We wouldn't need as many screens and thus reduce file size. There are some great ideas on how this could be added in the comments below. Currently I feel like this is the only feature that is missing to make this program A+ for prototyping/designing interactive screens.

Extra work designing web for my boss because for some funny reason Adobe still hasn't included this function. We wanted the dev team to know that there will be a hovering effect so I put in a cursor over the element that should have that effect. But anyway, can Adobe be a dear and include that function in the next update to make everyone's life is easier?
