Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    Jesus— do it. The fact that I don't have to get a million freaking plugins for a basic workflow is why I use XD over Sketch. Please don't make that decision harder than it is for me.

    If you're going to prototype, and show a client, you need to actually prototype - do I tell the client "no, video and gifs are not available for your site design"? Please, after 1472 requests here alone, I'd think this would be necessity.... no?

    Please this would be game-changing! You've already got audio in there, let's get some video and GIFs it would really bring the prototypes to life.

    Do I seriously still have to create after effects/video export previews of xd/webpages to my team so I can show them how I propose our animations videos to work in my designs?! Team Adobe, this is insane and has been in the High Priority request list for the last 3 years.

    This feature is essential for our development work. They could be tiny MP4 videos. it doesn't need to be 4K! we mainly want to walk people through a flow and the videos are very important to communicate the emotion of the experience.
