Delete unused components
Please add a feature that will allow the user to remove unused components from the library. Currently, I have to click on each component and check if it is on the canvas. Bearing in mind that there are several hundred of them in my file, it becomes very troublesome and causes a mess in the library. A similar option is available in e.g. Adobe InDesign and is very helpful when working with a file.

I found this page while trying to do exactly this today. I have a document with a ton of old components - some which were needed, some not. I'd love to clean up the file and not have it take me an entire day.

"as designed".
Yeah, you might want to rethink that. Delivering good design is being responsive to the users needs. This is sorely needed. Look at Sketch on how to do it.

This feature is long overdue and getting to be incredibly frustrating managing orphaned instances within and across documents. Adobe if you actually listen, this is a must have feature!!!!
To say this is ".. as designed.." means it's now time for a redesign...

Uh yeah... This is a no brainer, I can't believe we are having to request this, but kudos to adobe for giving us a place to do so.

Even if there was just a bit in the component card that stated how many times it was used, that would be super useful

Not the linked asset. I'm looking just for the local componentes.
It would be great if the Assets Panel had more complex filters, as in Photoshop. Or something that indicates me which components are not in use in my open document.

Sometimes I no longer use a component I have made, but it continues to show in my components list making it so long.
It would be great if we have an option to exclude these non used components. Or, maybe a tag / icon showing it. -
