Is there a forecast or plan when this will be finally fixed? This problem is slowing down the processess of so many people and companies. It would be easier for our team to start using Figma or Sketch instead of waiting more for the fixing of this problem. Could you at least make a steatment when the users could expect this fix???

We are under strict corporative rules for OS updating and even Adobe Creative Update. Without an administrative password we can´t update anything. Due to IT Policies this is common in large corporations and isn´t uncommon a lot of machines using a older version of the software because is not authorized to update.
This option to save files in a older version as we can do in Illustrator and Indesign (IDML) is used everyday in our workflow. We have some resistance to XD because of this.

Please solve this problem. I have xd file from the new version using my office computer. But i can’t open it to my personal laptop. I can’t upgrade the xd from my laptop. I have to remake the whole file at old version when i have to work at home.
The illustrator program or indesign can downgrade the files. These function make program perfect. Please. -

Yes, please. I couldn't open a file I was sent as I had an older version of XD on a work PC. I was also near a ski field where there wasn't anyway to update the software which was annoying.

Hi Adobe, I've been using XD and toggling between 2 laptops, one a lower specs MacBook Air and the other a higher specs, MacBook Pro. I have been largely depending on Creative Cloud to save and sync my files. However, after one of my edits earlier on the higher specs MacBook Pro, I was unable to open my file in the lower specs MacBook Air. Due to the specs of my MacBook Air, I'm unable to update to the same version of XD on the MacBook Pro. I did not save a copy of my work on the MacBook Air since everything is sync to Creative Cloud. This has left me unable to open my file and I have progressed quite a bit on that one single file. I have to start from scratch again if I decided to stick to using my lower specs MacBook Air, which is frustrating. Is there a work around for this issue? Appreciate your help. Thanks.

This is a problem for government agency use as well (another large enterprise situation with very controlled updates).
My team advocated hard to get XD, and have been promoting it internally but this is quite a bug to deal with. This is a tool we really need and the compatibility shortcoming is certain to affect adoption. What a pain.

I am a Graphic Design student at Spokane Falls Community College. The school updates the software on the computers over the summer, which means that by the time we start classes in September Adobe has already introduced new versions of the software.
This does not cause too much of a problem with most of the products, however, XD seems to be an exception there.
If we work on a project in XD on our home computers and then try to work on it on the computers at school we can not open the files due to the difference in the version of XD being used.
When I've asked about it I've been told simply to update to the new version of XD on the other computer, but since it's a school computer we do not have that option.
I tried to look up a solution for this but so far I have been unable to find one.

This feature should have been built in from the start and it is ridiculous how many issues this has caused in my company. People do not have control over their workplace machines and cannot update XD or any software - an administrator runs updates and not everyone gets theirs done on the same day or even the same week. Who cares about the fancy new components feature and other stuff when you can't open files to do any work.
