Move Fix Position when scrolling back to design mode
i ve just noticed you removed the preserve scroll position from design. This is a horrible thing for me. Doing that forces me to prototype EVERYTHING.
for example: i have 100 artboards that are unconnected due to time saving ( i dont need to prototype everything ) but moving that button forces me to do it becaus now i cant make a quick preview for my client where he can scroll up and down. Now i will have to connect ALL 100+ boards together.
why? Because when you are EXPORTING for REVIEW or DEVELOPMENT
only the connected boards are being exported. which is a horror for a long time now for me, and that is why i rarely prototype more than 5 artboards together when i have serious design work
this takes up soo much time
In today’s release of Adobe XD, you can now set an object’s fixed position in both Design and Prototype mode. Thank you all for your feedback!

The feature "Fix Position When Scrolling" under prototyping mode is basically for pinning the layer during a vertical scroll, as we all know; to which once it checked under the scrolling setting- it indicates a pin icon alongside the respective layer(in prototype mode alone). This is completely perfect for small sets of the design artboards, but when it comes to around 50-100 artboards, I feel it is not efficient enough.
The pin likewise in all the other widely used applications, let's say "Microsoft Teams" once I pin a chat it stays on top of my chat log in spite of receiving new messages from other people. On the other hand, XD having a similar kind of pin signifier, which is eventually applied to a layer, but not taken forward to the layer itself (under design mode), thereby doing its job only to 50%.
Taking this pin forward to design mode or making it mutual (applied in prototype mode applies in design mode), is probably making a lot of sense to me - as everything is layer driven. The layer can just have a pin icon beside it, ensuring it is pinned already at a glance. Doing this would also prevent any overlaps during vertical scroll, by the newly added layers later as the design progress.

I updated my XD just today [30 Jan 2020]. But what I'm experiencing is I could see "Fix position while scrolling" feature only for first-level parent folder containing other layers and folders. I couldn't use that feature for individual layer or folder. (Screenshot images are attached). That's the case in PROTOTYPE mode. I couldn't see that feature all-together in DESIGN mode. Please suggest me.
Thanks.

Wow, so when this "Fix Position" was first featured, it actually worked. Now it's a mess.
There MUST be an option to make elements sticky-to-the-bottom of the viewport. The "Fix Position" used to work for that... then I mistakenly decided to update to the latest CC version of XD >:(

Its confusing to new users trying to follow along with tutorials that are all of a sudden out of date and having to spend time within the first few minutes of a tutorial to figure a work around is highly annoying. I've already spent more time trying to find a fix to this issue than I have on the tutorial itself. Plus, what is the reasoning behind the move? It doesn't seem like anyone is happy with this change.

I'm just working through the XD tutorials and really can't figure out why it was moved.

I agree. Makes no sense, especially when XD tutorials inform you it's in design mode.

Even with prototype mode, the "Fixed position when scrolling ONLY appears during the whole artboard being selected. If you only want to keep one object fixed, it won't allow you to click "fixed position when scrolling".

The downfall of this method is XD forces you to create multiple artboards in order to see the property inspector. It's not shown when there is only one artboard in a project.

Now when designing 1 page you can't add the fixed position to an item. Instead you need to add a 2nd (empty artboard) to be able to go to the prototype mode.
So either you should make the prototype mode accessible for single pages, or add the button to the design section... -

Well at first this feature was somewhere in the Design tab, sorry i cant remember, but it was way more convince than it was in the Prototype tab in the latest update.
First I could control which object should stay right in the design process. Now whenever I want to set an object to stay in place, I have to switch to Prototype tab to check the setting "Fix position when scrolling" then switch back to Design tab to continue design. Or else I have to do this after i'm done with the design.
This is EXTREMELY annoying when you have to switch to a whole tab just to check an option.

In your XD tutorial, the part 7, The "Fix position when scrolling" is not anymore in the Design mode. But it is shifted to the prototype mode. Please change this in the tutorial as it is very confusing who is learning as he/she can't find that option in the Design mode.

I have now been told that in order to get my design to function correctly again that I need to sign up for the paid version and that may allow me to get the older version. Is this fair?

I have spoken to support and they told me that Fixed Position When Scrolling has been deprivated. I assume that this means it has been removed. This was a good feature. If it has been removed, why? If it is a bug, can we get it fixed please?

ok, i ve overreacted and found that it is active in the prototype "fix position as scrolling" that i meant.
Still , why was it moved to prototype?
