Change default save location to local file system
XD insists on saving my documents to Cloud Documents by default all the time. I haven't made such a decision and there's' no way of changing the default. I wanna save to "Your Computer" all the time. I really miss a "Remember this choice" option. Please stop making decisions on my behalf Adobe.
As of XD 29, you can now save to local documents directly without hitting the same selector by using the key command Shift+Opt+Cmd+S (Mac) or Shift+Alt+Ctrl+S (Win).

Are you fxxking kidding me? This issue had been voice out for 3 years but nothing changed! XD team seems never heard about the users' fee back!

Please fix your "solution" so that local can be the default – as it stands, cloud is still the default and I'm still constantly accidentally saving there and not locally

I want to save local as default, don't force me to use adobe cloud, I have enough cloud providers.

Please let me save local as default

I add my frustration to this "solution." Simply add the option to reconfigure the key commands, like in so many other applications.
Having to use TWO HANDS to press FOUR buttons to freaking save a file is "appsolute madness", and is a convention not followed by any other Adobe application.
You have the technology. Fix it.

It is March 18, 2021, and I'm here to say that this is STILL an issue. Shift + CTRL + ALT + S is a royal pain in the ass to press, and definitely not natural. CTRL + S should save to wherever the hell you have the document saved. Local file? Save to local, cloud file? Save to cloud. But let's be honest, Adobe, nobody wants your cloud storage. Either we're soloists paying $4/mo for an insane amount of storage at Google, DropBox or OneDrive (all three massive and unparalleled services) or we're professionals doing backups of our local files to a company server. Not only this, but what happens with Adobe Cloud goes down for an entire day, or longer? We can't work, we can't do ANYTHING because you've forced us to use your clearly unreliable system proven by the fact that it's down when we need it the most. Get with the program, literally. I'm finishing this project in XD, then I'm looking for an alternative.
sidenote: I used to purposefully use Lightroom Classic just so that I could force my collections to save to a specified drive instead of an unchangeable default. You really need to fire this guy making these decisions and hire LITERALLY anyone else.

I know you deliberately want to force everyone to go with your cloud options, but there should be an option to switch save commands. Normal save command for almost every program is CTRL+S (CMD+S) and it's a muscle memory for designers. Now it doesn't behave as expected. Please, don't make Adobe XD even more annoying to use for experienced users :(

you should switch the key command between them. Maybe.

I still have to continuously use the extended key command to save my project locally, because Cmd+S will attempt to save to the stupid adobe cloud despite saving the file locally.

Professional users use servers (not a cloud)

You’re sooooooo damn annoying, Adobe…

WHY IS THIS HIDDEN TO DO!?!? Stop forcing me to use the CLOUD... I freaking hate it BECAUSE of this!

It's October 2020. I've updated to latest Adobe XD. And y'all are still using these dark UX patterns to push a cloud storage feature that no one wants.

This is just Adobe trying hard to push their cloud service. What happened to your pledge of User Experience Over Everything Else?

This feature is not complete. You cannot select a default save method, and in some instances, files automatically save to the cloud without asking.

This has been one of the most annoying "features" of XD, so I figured out a workaround: Override the shortcut in my system settings.
On macOS:
1. Open System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
2. On the left you'll see a list of shortcut categories, click on "App Shortcuts"
3. Click the '+' icon that appears below the list of shortcuts.
4. In the New Shortcut dialog: click on the Application dropdown, and add Adobe XD (you may have to Click on "Other..." at the bottom and then it'll prompt you to select an app from the Applications folder).
5. Still within the New Shortcut dialog: Enter "Save As Local Document..." (exactly as is, without the quotes), and then add Keyboard Shortuct (Command+Shift+S is the typical "Save As..." shortcut). This will override the default XD shortcuts, allowing you to define your own Save Local shortcut. Note: if you choose Command+Shift+S as your new Save Local shortcut, it will unset the "Save As..." a.k.a. "save as new cloud document", meaning you'd have to set an additional shortcut in the macOS settings to replace it with Command+Shift+Option+S, or leave it unset and only use the File > Menu option to save as cloud.

Stop using dark UX patterns.
Don't push us to use cloud documents - I want to have an easy option to make this decision. Shift+Opt+Cmd+S (Mac) - is this a joke?

Still a daily headache. This feature is not complete. Making it complete would return the default behavior back to defaulting to saving local.

This is still a daily headache for my team. It creates so much needless frustration and extra work. We have to go into the cloud and delete documents every day. We share documents that don't reflect updates (because someone used the reflexive Save As shortcut and those updates were saved to a cloud document instead of the local version). Our team cannot use Adobe's cloud, and our designers work in several programs, the freshest and least-sticky of which is XD. This needlessly confusing save process and cloud-saving strong-arming are obstacles to adoption of XD within the company. If local saving cannot be made the new-file default and the CMD+S and CMD+SHIFT+S default behaviors and/or cloud saving completely turned off, we will have to use other software.

Observing that the comments go back several months, may I know if this save to cloud by default thing is going to be the new norm? It is creating a lot of issues when we are running through with the clients as we have to constantly give them a new link that does not have their comments.
Update: Me and my team found out that it is not that we cannot save back locally with cmd+s but we couldn't do so if we were to open the file from the company server.
