Device orientation change/resize as a trigger
I would like to have a trigger for device rotation, and connect two artboards to go from one layout to another when device rotation happens.
To go further, I like to be able to switch to another artboard based on size class changes (using iOS terms). Then I could have specific layouts for various potential sizes of my app, and this would include portrait to landscape rotation.

Prototyping rotating the phone on its side as a trigger

I'm looking for a trigger and a way for the prototype to react to the devices rotation specifically for mobile so as the phone is rotated a different view can be seen to fill up the page rather than just a skinny little image that is practically unusable. I tried finding an answer to this but I couldn't find one! Thanks!

Is there a way to make the prototype to automatically switch from portrait to landscape mode when rotating the phone?

So, say I have 2 artboards. 1 for Portrait mode, one for Landscape mode. In preview - presentation, I rotate my device and... drum roll.... cold sweat.
Technically what I would love is to be able to group artboards under a name and have a field with each artboard where I can put some format or format identifier. Then I want XD in preview to select the best format (or give me a dropdown so I can do that)
Romantically I'd love to have a storyboard. Each step can have multiple artboards that represent different screen sizes. When I
Preview on iPad (Portrait) I expect to see the correct artboard (iPad Portrait). If I rotate the iPad I expect to see the iPad Landscape artboard.
Preview on the computer - I should have a drop-down that allows me to select which display format I am currently emulating.
(see attachment for example)
+1 Good idea, I need this
+1 This trigger would be very useful and I would use a lot.
