Manipulate images like InDesign: resizing, cropping, simple bitmap editing

Make XD Images like InDesign.

Please make the way XD manipulates and imports images exactly like InDesign. With easy resizing, cropping, and layer properties like (hard light, etc).

I'd love to see this as well!

I'm coming from Sketch, which seems to be the only UI design tool that allows this. It was a HUGE timesaver when creating quick mock-ups from a screenshot. The ability to create rectangular or magic wand selections and fill them, makes it so easy to just "blank out" areas of a screenshot you don't want so you can overlay new elements.

It also helps when you only have a bitmap of an icon you want to use, but need to remove its background to make it transparent. Having to open another tool to do this is inefficient.

Yes. InDesign is so simple. One step less. I don't have to draw a mask. I just have the mask by default. At the moment it's really confusing because XD images has this default mask but I din't understand the behaviour of this and so sometimes I end up with two masks and it's confusing.

In XD double clicking often goes confusing changing the mask and the image frame too.JPG 1561 KB

I 100% agree with this. Images imported into Artboards should automatically have either (a) masked shape that can be altered or (b) follow the same rules as InDesign. Makes prototyping on the fly much faster
