Export images in "webp" format

Please allow for images to be exported in "WEBP" formats.

Sketch caters for "WEBP" formats (see attached image) and it would be great if XD was able to (both read and) export to this format too.

Yes, WEBP support is important to our team. Support of this format would help increase productivity.

How is this still a feature request and not an actual part of XD?

Adobe being the big tech company they are and not supporting webp is disappointing. All adobe softwares, should have supported webp long ago. It's embarrassing.

Reducing the usage of bandwidth has a far-reaching impact to a company like Adobe & customers like us!!! We (customers) gets benefited in offering the fasted website which helps in ranking better in SEO & reaching more customers all by saving a lot of resources (compute, network & storage) being used.

    FYI: https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/
WebP lossless images are 26% smaller in size compared to PNGs. WebP lossy images are 25-34% smaller than comparable JPEG images at equivalent SSIM quality index.

I really need this! I use XD for all my website graphics as it's easy to do composites - but the workflow of saving, transferring to Photoshop and saving as WebP (with plugin) is tedious.

Please also consider including a preview of the filesize after export, as this is really important (right now I have to actually save it - and then look at the file size - adjust and repeat)..

Why can't I work with the media file format, which has basically become the modern standard now?

Google / Lighthouse is dinging scores for not using webp image types. It's really important that XD adds the ability to export WebP formatted images.
