View > Show Layout Grid should toggle on all artboards, not just selected ones.
I use the new Layout Grid heavily, but because of the color shading applied by default I need to hide it across ALL artboards to review what I've designed. Would appreciate if the functionality worked more similarly to Photoshop Guide Layouts where toggling the keyboard shortcut did this across the board.
The feature to turn grids on and off now applies to all artboards. Thanks for your feedback!

Uuups, you requested this feature, but if I'm not missing anything, it is now impossible to set the grid visibility independently for each artboard...?

YES! Like everyone has said, when I'm using the shortcut keys to turn the layout grid on and off, 99% of the time, I find I do not have an artboard selected. I want them to turn on and off all artboards at the same time.

Agreed. It seems like a small thing, but it gets me several times per *minute* while I'm working.

I rarely have the artboard I am working on selected (always click off of it to remove the selection border around whatever object I was using) and it's annoying to wonder why the shortcut for grid/layout didn't work, realise it was because the artboard wasn't selected and then click back on the artboard in a location that doesn't select any other object.

It's quite rare that I hit cmd+shift+' (toggle layout grid) WHILE an artboard is selected. Definitely need a global shortcut to eliminate the need for an artboard to be selected.

I just noticed you can change the default style of layout grid sooooo this is now less of a problem. Still would be very nice shortcut to have.
